  1. you see, I live in Omaha, but I can see why the rest of the state really looks down on the uppityness of those of us from the east side of the state. It's like those of you that wear leather wristbands, use the unisex bathrooms, and gorge yourselves at places such as Biaggi's or The Upstream, continue to look down on the other 80% of our state. Give it a rest we are all Nebraskans, covered wagons or not.
  2. Kent rules he is by far the best out there. Listening to Kent is like pure butter to my ears. Kent was/is waaaaaay too fond of himself to be our Voice of Nebraska. You see that is why the people of Omaha make his radio show so low rated. Jim's voice, and as he gets more experience his inflection will harken back to a young Lyle. If you haven't read it, read his book on the history of Husker Football.
  3. Yes I am in the process of getting enough signatures to take this personally to the AD and let him know Husker Nation isn't happy with being stagnant with out TUnnel Walk. Everyone uses this now, we need to be unique. Here are a couple of other posts where I addressed this... In case anyone wants to help us change the Tunnel Walk theme, we'll be outside the stadium on the SW corner with a petition that I will personall give to our AD. If you can't find me, that will be hard, start yelling Thunderstruck, and/or play a bit of the tune loud & I WILL FIND YOU. Thanks for caring, ThunderstruckHusker New fella here as well, although i've been lurking a long time. Just thought some of the other new guys on here seemed to pull me out of my shell Hope we can have some decent positive conversations about the direction Callahan and Pedersen are taking the Husker program. Thanks for letting me have somewhere to post my feelings about my team. PS also I do have have something that a few might be interested in. After going to almost every game the past 15 years I have become tired and disallusioned about the tunnel walk, specifically Sirius. That old, tired, beat down song needs to be replaced. Heck most of the people lose the beat while clapping once it starts to pick up tempo. I have a mission to get the tunnel walk music changed to my namesake, Thunderstruck. If anyone is interested, I have a petition that I will personally hand to Mr Pedresen, you are more then welcome to sign it. Before and after every home game, I will be standing on the south west corner outside the stadium. Please feel free to stop by and sign. Thanks once again ThunderstruckHusker
  4. Is there a place set up for a meet & greet among HuskerBoard members before the Maine game? It would sure be nice to put some names to faces, plus I could get most of you to sign me Tunnel Walk petition If not I will be on the SW corner outside the stadium with my petition, feel free to look me up if you are in the area.

  6. Well as we used to say at an old job of mine you can make change for a dollar a lot of ways, but which one is correct depends of who is asking.
  7. Exactly my thoughts except my mom never made pot pies, I liken listening to Jim Rose as petting my faithful old dog Peaches. It gives me a sence of calm and well-being.
  8. No, I'm 100% serious. Take my challenge, try to chart a game - I've tried several times, it can't be done. Rose is much better at baseball than football because there's enough dead time in baseball to fill with his fanciful bs. Now, if you'd like to hear a top notch college radio baseball broadcast listen to a Texas game next year. I'm not a broadcast journalist and I don't teach broadcast journalism. I've just been listening to sports on the radio since about 1955 and I know when "the picture is being painted" and when it isn't. Tell me the story of the game, don't tell me a story. I have charted almost every game for the past 8 or 9 years, Rosie by far was the easiest to chart, I wood get confused with swain as to where a player was "spun down" or when Kent started talking about himself. Rose is a class act, just read his book on the history of Husker Football to realize this guy knows what he is talking about.
  9. I dont see whats wrong with Roz....he's so much better than Swine was. Plus he brings lots of nebraska colour and knowledge of the program into his play by pay commentary. Rose is a gem of a guy and will be fine. At least he is a Nebraska fan.
  10. or how about the last tenants forgot to pay the mortgage for 6 years and finally were evicted. When you finally moved in the house was in such bad shape it was going to take some time to bring it up to specs and livable again?????
  11. Rose is a home grown talent and will endear himself more and more to Husker Fans as he announces more games, besides did you ever read his book on The History of Husker Football?
  12. With the exception of his sideline reporting for the PPV, Pavelka will not be back at the mic. If you never listened to his low rated show in Omaha you wood know why.
  13. How about just coming out to Hail Varsity or There is No Place Like Nebraska? Weird to play the school fight songs. You must be really one old cub, kids don't like the old things anymore. They want to come out to some rock & roll or hip-hop. Anything to get them pumped up.
  14. Thanks, I'll look through that one. At first glance there are some excellent other choices, and I see a few others agree with Thunderstruck
