I guess I hadn't really imagined Starling at WR, but putting a 6'5 speedster on the outside sounds pretty good, given our current lack of big time WR's.

I just talked to someone in the program: Me: "So have you seen Shawn Watson around?" Them: "No I haven't seen him in a while." Me: "You're aware of the rumors circling the program, right?" Them: "Yeah, everyone thought the monday meeting was going to be them announcing Shawn Watson was fired, but I guess he's out recruiting or something?" Interesting, because I thought Watson didn't do any recruiting? Also, my attempts to get any info regarding Scott Frost and his position at Oregon have been unsuccessful, but I will continue to try and get an answer.

Yeah, I certainly hope so. That's why you recruit a kid to come to the school based on the program, not on the coaching staff, or the players that are currently there.

I understand what you are saying but keep in mind...a lot of memebers are really tired of the rumors that have been flying around for the past 2 months. There are a few that come on here with their "inside sources" which turns out to be crap. We get tired of it (atleast I do) so I hope you understand. Plust with national signing day tomorrow, rumors are the last thing our potential recruits need to be reading. I try never to listen to just one person, I usually check things through a few people, and if it's solid enough, I'll say something. I stake the reputation of our website every time I post, so I try not to take it lightly. The fact that a player told me some other things led me to believe it was true. I'm not saying I want recruits to go elsewhere, but I'd be pissed if the guy recruiting me was dismissed from the team. Another thing, which may be totally unrelated, but I'm certainly disappointed that Shawn Watson feels above the need to recruit anyone other then a QB. An offensive coordinator should at least be talking to WR/RB's. I'll be excited when we get a OC who wants to go out and grab stellar players for his offense. Whether that is Tim Beck or an external candidate, I don't know. I'm going to keep pursing names on who could be potential replacements.

Yeah, that was me who started the thread. At the time, I didn't know what kind of commotion I'd be causing because I didn't know the full extent of what was going on. I checked around with several sources and heard that more then one coach is leaving, most likely Shawn Watson and Ted Gilmore, but possibly could be more. When I asked a player about this he said "I haven't seen some of the coaches since the bowl game."

It's a complement when the scouts and coaches think you're so good at kicking FG's, they have you punt. For the rest of what I saw: Pierre Allen- Awful, I saw him get dominated several times and had a flag pulled on him. Mike McNeil- Great. I saw him hold his own against a couple DE's in protection, and ran very solid routes. It would not surprise me in the least to see him get drafted. Eric Hagg- Good. Saw him on just about every special teams play in the second half, and he made some tackles early on. Roy Helu- Whether it was poor blocking or him, he didn't look good in his time at RB. He also suffered from being in while Colin Kapernick was QB'ing so he only had two plays called for him. Niles Paul- Nice kick return and one catch. Not a bad day. Alex Henery- Saw him put a punt perfectly on the 1-yard line. He was solid, and like I said, everyone knew he was a stellar kicker, yesterday was about proving other aspects of his game.

I tell you what, when we received the email saying "I'd love to come on your show" we both freaked out. I was in Target screaming with excitement and scaring customers. When it actually came time to do the interview, I was a bit nervous and when the phone was ringing from the secretary to his office, my heart was pounding, and Todd was breathing into the microphone like a horse. In the end, its much ado about nothing, because he's as gracious and humble as anyone I've ever met, and I hope to talk to him again soon.
