  1. I'd give Moss a look at that DE spot opposite of Ankrah....Meredith is incredibly slow. Talk about a guy who peaked early in his career....
  2. Already delete it from the DVR? LOL. Not this time. Didn't DVR it. Now the Michigan game last year......that one was gone in no time. I thought I might be the only one (or one of few)! If you want to know how many games we won the year before, just count the events in my DVR titled "college football"....
  3. This was about as upfront as I have ever seen BO be, I hope to see more of it. he ended the quote with "and that's that" upfront, ubetcha What did you want him to end with?
  4. I did post that a little "tongue in cheek".... But I would say that the success of LSU, and the hopes of championships has been a large factor in them deciding not to transfer. That kind of success at Nebraska would probably prevent guys like Green, or Moore, and maybe Rome from transferring....
  5. Eric Martin would fit, he's always been a bit of a tweener. I don't know how well he will do every down, but in pass rush situations he could be pretty good. Has he gotten too big? I have thought that Martin handles himself pretty well on 3rd downs as a DE. He is the only one that I saw get any kind of pressure on the UCLA QB....
  6. What? Bo has proven here at Nebraska that his system works..... 2009 ring a bell? 2010?
  7. It is an exciting new approach, but do we have the playmakers at LB to make such a move? If we do, they must be young!
  8. Why would you put this on Bo? If kids like Moore, and possibly Rome, want to quit THEIR TEAM because they are losing their starting spots, then that is a character issue on them, not Bo. Chase Rome is appearing to be very selfish with this decison. They could all learn a thing or two about TEAM, from Brion Carnes.... If this is the case, then that's fine. I agree that the best players should be the ones on the field, not just the ones with the mosy seniority. Just seems strange that so many players are quitting. LSU has freshmen playing all the time and the older guys don't quit b/c of it. No, because all of LSU's players with those kind of character issues are busy getting suspend, and kicked off the team for "other" reasons....
  9. That kind of attitude is absolutely fine. The kind of attitude that makes you quit when your starting spot is taken away after you didn't get the job done - that's the bad attitude I'm talking about. I'm sorry, but based on performance I thought "patty cake" was exactly what it looked like we were doing Yeah, unfortunately, it's looked that way on both defensive and offensive lines for more than a couple years now. Pathetic isn't it? The question for me now is, is it coaching or talent? I think Bo has more then proven what he can do with adequate talent. So in my opinion, its a talent issue. That happens to fall on Bo's shoulders as well, however....
  10. That kind of attitude is absolutely fine. The kind of attitude that makes you quit when your starting spot is taken away after you didn't get the job done - that's the bad attitude I'm talking about. That isn't an attitude problem....It's a character issue....
  11. This coming from the same kid who punched out a paper towel dispenser after the Wisconsin loss... I hate to judge him too much but this just reeks of bad attitude. The D-line gets torched so Bo decides to re-open competition for spots, Chase doesn't like it and thinks he should be starting, so he quits. Whatever happened to working hard to regain the starting spot? Making yourself better and thereby making your teammates better? What the hell is going on on this team? What a kid huh? With that attitude we should thank him for opening up another scholarship. we all know the paper towel dispenser's side of the story, we should wait for chase's. Agreed, but it was pretty easy to see where this story was going after word had started getting around about young guys seeing the field....

  13. If Chase Rome sucks, then what category do Meredith and Baker fall into? They've all looked pretty equally pathetic so far this year. I thought they all sucked

  15. Always cracks me up when stories like this become a generational thing. I, as a responsible/committed/hard-working young man, take offense to this. This is a case by case issue, and it is an issue that I would imagine to be no worse now, then it was 20-30 years ago. Only in the modern era, we have message boards, and social media that make news like this more accessible, and more widespread. Having said all that, I would agree that Rome is not a "team" guy. I would imagine he had a large problem with his playing time being taken away by a freshman DT. Suck it up Rome!
  16. The WR position is stacked, but I admire a kid that doesn't run from a program....Good luck Carnes....
  17. Callahan coached in a Super Bowl eyeswear2allthatsholy .... No Thanks! :ahhhhhhhh
  18. Without question, recruiting is where Bo has failed....
  19. Ummm....he's been through it for about 3 seasons now and it's still not fixed. Gotta wonder. Exactly! I'm all about being aboard the Bo Train. I'm not trying to unduly rip the guy, but listen - if your calling card is tremendous defense, there is never an excuse for a game like this at UCLA. And we've had several like this over Bo's tenure. Enough with the words. Bo says all the right words. I'm sick of hearing the words. Just get this crap fixed. This is Bo Pelini. His defenses should not "need fixing". They should be a well oiled machine throttling opponents, eating running backs for lunch and pooping qb's from day one. I would have thought after last years debacle with the defense he would have "fixed" it before this season ever started. It's sounding more like a jimmy and joes problem to me....My main issue is tackling....it needs to get fixed pronto or the Huskers are in for a looooooooong season. Sadly...I don't know how much the tackling will improve. Bo needs to get the youngins out there and I hope to Jesus they are athletic and talented, because we need some players that can get in the right positions to make the tackles. I think it is important for Bo to dumb the scheme down temporarily for these young kids. If they think to much, their athletic ability will be ineffective. The kids just need to get out there and play(tackle too). This is nothing that Bo isn't already aware of, I'm sure....
  20. Whaley/Compton/Randle/Steinkuhler/Meredith = SLOW (Especially, Meredith) Get the young athletes on the field, after the 2nd worst defensive performance in NU history, what do we have to lose? We have two games to get them ready!
