  1. Glenn's not slow. He's one of the fastest Huskies. You hadn't heard much about him as this was his first start since his Freshman season against ND when Cort (#31) rolled over his leg on a tackle.
  2. Thought you might like to see this: http://bcove.me/gegk61tz
  3. His nickname should be "Clock". Why? Give him the ball at the end of the game and watch the clock run.
  4. Well, I've said my piece and have made my piece. I hope the Huskies can get out of Lincoln General Hospital in time for next weeks game against Cal. Good luck on the rest of your season.
  5. Funny that the Husker D that was so powerful we not the ones that Pellini recruited, or were they? Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't the best defenses recruited by the other guy?
  6. why is that? I think what he's referring to is the lob kick on the first on-sides kick. On that play the ball wasn't kicked into the ground so there had to be given room to catch the ball which Kearse did not.
  7. I think Price is good, but Jake didn't have the weaponry that Price has. Jake also went up against the 2010 Husker DB's that are in the NFL. This is not the same defense that Jake faced.
  8. One is right here, though I never said the Huskies were going to cane the Huskers.
  9. The Big10 officials are great. I lived in Columbus and got to see a ton of Big10 games and this isn't how they normally are. I certainly blame the Huskies for losing their composure, but given the circumstances, I probably would have too. Nebraska was smart to notice that and take advantage of them being mentally out of the game. Then they took the Huskies to the wood shed for the next 15 minutes. It was nearly over when the Huskies finally snapped out of it.
  10. The Catch Interference call hurt bad. It took the ball out of the Huskies hands. They were in position to run the clock down to where Nebraska had no time to do anything. That's a 10 point swing on that play right there. The kick off muff hurt much worse and that's all on the Huskies. The Huskies weren't moving the ball well at that point in the game, so a FG still makes that another 10 point swing. Being down by so much the Huskies went for it on 4th down and took another 3 off of the board. That's 23 points the Huskies left on the table. Just how I see it. I understand your point, as it's the same way I'd see it if I were a Husky fan. But as a Husker fan, I'm seeing it from the Nebraska side. If we had gotten the first personal foul call, that's 15 yards and we have the ball around the 40. If we get the second, we push Washington all the way into the shadow of their goal posts. Yours was a glaring penalty, no doubt, but as officiating is the least predictable part of a game, it's also the most illegitimate part to criticize. I think the third quarter is what really put Washington into trouble. If they had played better the other issues may not have been as glaring. I didn't see those, probably was when I was reaching for the Kleen-x.

Not to mention the short fields Washington gave the Huskers on the Onsides Kicks Just how I see it.
  12. I'm not sure how many Huskies will be available for Cal next week. The Huskies were in a fist fight in the 2nd half....and lost the fist fight too. They might be recovered by the CU game.
  13. He just bombed it down the field to wide open receivers with zero pressure on him after the secondary bumbled and fell all over the place. Washington is a garbage team we should have beat by 30 points, shows where we are at as a team. No where deserving of a top 10 ranking. I'm not going to base my opinion of Nebraska fans on you. Most Nebraska fans are pretty classy. You may wish to switch over to Oregon, there are plenty of fans like you down in Eugene. ;-)
  14. If Locker had a ASJ (#88) and Kasen Williams this team would be 3 and 0.
  15. Dude...there were some BAD calls but you have 91 yards rushing at this point. You won't win many games running the ball like that. Price is a good one though. I'm not going to whine...never have. The Huskies gave it away on special teams and the refs took it away with bad calls. A 6" drive? A 10 point swing on that botched punt? Big KO returns by Nebraska. But Nebraska physically took many Huskies to the wood shed and nearly took away the Huskies will to win. I was surprised at the Huskies resiliency. I was also surprised at Martinez's toughness. I thought the repeated hits would wear him down, but he didn't. That's not to mention the "Clock" Burkhead. I don't think that the Huskies were exposed. I think they can go toe to toe with anybody this year. That said, I don't think that this Husker team is close to being as good as last year's Nebraska team.
  16. Seriously, Nebraska fans, have you ever seen officiating this bad?
  17. First score since the ref's took the game away from the Huskies.
  18. I don't see this going the Huskies way, at this point. I had hoped this to be a closer game, and I have to pin a ton of it on the refs, but the Huskers took control of the game when the Huskies lost their composure. The Huskies got the crap kicked out of them physically at the end. Good luck with the Big 10. I hope you throttle Michigan.
  19. Thanks! Burkhead looks like a load to bring down. Martinez looks like the one that the Huskies faced the first game. However, the defense looks susseptible. However, I'm certain that the defense that the Huskers used was base and nothing fancy.
  20. You'll have to excuse many of us Husky fans. Many Huskies are not used to being 2 and 0. They think that holding someone to 20 points is domination. They weren't around for the late 80's and early 90's version of the Montlake dawgs. Don't take offence to it. I've had this game circled on my calendar for a while now. I like the Huskies chances, but I fear the Cornhuskers. The Huskies first visit to Lincoln was on my honeymoon and I was unable to fully enjoy the atmosphere. I would like to be there for this game, but I will enjoy it from home on San Juan Island. We don't get many Huskers out this way, but over the years I've enjoyed conversations with Husker fans: classy and passionate fans. For the most part, that's what you'll find with the traveling Husky fans in Lincoln next week (but, unfortunately, 60% bandwagoneering dawg fans on this board.) So, I hope you'll excuse the Husky fans that appear here over the next week. If the Huskies lose, you won't hear a peep from them again. Me? Win or lose I'll be back here to talk again.
  21. Can someone post a video link for the Huskers from last weekend?
  22. Question: schematically, are NU fans concerned that continually exposing Martinez through running the ball that their season could turn out like the end of last season? This was my greatest fear for Locker (and my greatest hope for Oregon's QB) as u saw what happened to Dennis Dixon and Isaiah Stanback to name a few.
