Wild Bill
I've seen a good amount of live muisc this year such as Dave Alvin twice, The Chicago Blues Festival, Johnny Winter three times and in the past two months, The Drive-By Truckers, The Hacienda Brothers, Robert Randolph and Govt Mule. Last night was Zappa Plays Zappa. http://www.zappaplayszappa.com/ Wow, what a nice show! They played about all of the great Zappa tunes you'd want to hear. They had usually eight, but up to 10 players on stage at any given time including Steve Vai and Terry Bozzio. I was pleased that Dweezil has developed into a decent guitarist (although not as good as Frank.) I'm sure Frank would be pleased how well Dweezil assembled an excellent band and put this on the road for old and new fans to hear. My friend Larry (who owns at least 17 guitars) called and said his wife couldn't make it, so he had a spare reserved seat ticket for me. I in turn gave my general admission ticket to my friend Keith (who could afford to own 17 guitars but only has about seven or eight). The whole thing lasted over three hours. hskrdedhed
I had the chance to go to that in Denver last month and didnt go. I regret it now. Zappa was the man! "Watermellon in the Easter Hay" is one of my favorite jam/ballads ever. Quote Link to comment
