TX-Husker-2011
I'm flying into Omaha bright and early, then making the drive to Lincoln. What do I need to see to give me a good idea on what UNL is all about? I'm really excited to go. I've been wanting to attend UNL for a while. Nebraska was kind of a late bloomer for me. I've always loved Nebraska athletics, but I never really thought about the idea of going to school there. I always felt pressure to go to Baylor since my family has all attended the university, but when I found out that they would be open to whatever my decision was, I decided to go elsewhere. I was set to go to the University of North Texas, but I decided to halt that idea to come visit Nebraska. This will probably be my only chance to see the school before I officially decide and I'm hoping to transfer in January. I will be applying as a transfer student, so yea...Let me know what I need to see! Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
If you do attend, there's a very short adjustment period. There's nothing super flashy about Lincoln. That can be taken in a good way. You have all your bars, restaurants that cater to college kids (i.e. prices, hours, etc.), lots of women, greek system, cheap rent. It's a solid University...........that is until you realize we have football team. When it comes to college, any of these big Universities are great schools, in the end, it's what you put into that's really going to count. Quote Link to comment
dbetz23
Check out Adventure Golf on Highway 2. That place is fun. Off topic I know. Quote Link to comment
BGREDSTUCKN IA
Was there something in particular that caught your eye to consider UNL? Just wondering. Good Luck! Quote Link to comment
huskerfan500
I am starting looking at colleges, is it wrong for the main reason for wanting to go to a college is sports even though you are not good enough to play there Quote Link to comment

zoogs
I am starting looking at colleges, is it wrong for the main reason for wanting to go to a college is sports even though you are not good enough to play there The atmosphere is one thing. But in the end, go to the place that will be the best for you. Loving Husker football doesn't mean UNL is right for you. Depends also on the other places you're looking at. In the end, academics should supersede sports loyalties. Quote Link to comment
TX-Husker-2011
Thanks for the replies, fellas. I think UNL is the place for me, so I'm pretty excited. This trip (hopefully) will confirm my original thoughts. I'm ready to official become a part of the Husker Nation. Quote Link to comment

Never see the same person in two classes..more girls....more beer. My final choices came down to Penn St., Syracuse and UNL because they had good athletics...it's fun to root for your team./ Quote Link to comment

TX-Husker-2011
^ Man, the trip was awesome. Definitely set itself a part. My mom was kind of against me going that far from home, but after seeing the campus and all, she was really excited for me. I'll definetly be going to Nebraska. I'll go for the second semester since I missed the deadline for the first so yea...I'll be in Lincoln at the beginning of January. Quote Link to comment
