HSKRNOKC
After watching Navy, I have to say that I TRULY miss the option game. I haven't seen the triple option run, well since Nebraska, until tonight. I know that Pitt. isn't a great team...but man, it was nice to see a team with lesser talent (Navy) rule the game clock and ultimately, the game. I'm sorry fellas, but I wish this Navy game wasn't televised. That was the last thing I needed to see. This game was reminiscent of the days of old. I still think the option is capable of kicking some A$$. Sorry, fellas...but I miss that sh%t. I haven't seen that sort of true ground domination, for man, YEARS. I miss it. *Rhetorical statements are my forte. I thought the same thing. When ran correctly , it is a beautiful thing. I had Eric Crouch flashbacks . That could have been the beer I guess... I don't remember Eric Crouch pitching the ball that much. He didnt need to. Quote Link to comment
EbylHusker
It was nice to see that style of option for the memories, but I'm also glad we no longer run anything close to it. I agree Nebraska doesn't run anything close to an offense. I'll take what we've got over that. Quote Link to comment

SaveTheHuskers
Well, I expected that. I think you see my point, though. The option can still score points. Navy has also never been the best recruiting school, historically. I just miss the option. They don't recruit well during a pointless war? I have nothing against the option. I love the option. Nebraska will never see it on a regular basis ever again. Time to move on... ...to what, I'm not quite sure. Pointless war. Wow. You're reaching, man. I don't even need to tell you how AGAINST the war I am...certainly , not in this forum. You're right, man. I guess why question the actions perpetrated upon us? Accept the offense, as it is, because that is the offense of Nebraska? Just look at Navy's statistics...http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/clubhouse?teamId=2426 Relatively, they blow us out of the water...due to D and the running game. *Note Navy's time of possession vs. Nebraska's. Average. Well, if i had to go into any armed forces right now, it would be the Navy. And the Naval Academe... well... they're not going to be front line at all. Don't the military academes have weight limits? Or is that not an issue anymore? Are you crazy I am in the Air Force, we don't deploy much at all and I've been in 7yrs. In that time I got to ride in the back of an f-15 in vegas. Stationed at Panama City Fl for 5 years and now i'm at Ft Meade in Maryland. Oh and Air Force is crazy about taking care of people and we also get the most funding. Go Navy though and you might end up on a ship in the Gulf (No not the Florida Gulf) or worse yet on a submarine. Just my two cents though. Quote Link to comment

Yeah, now that they canned the F-14, I'm not particularly excited about anything that the Navy flies I have a friend who went to the navy weapons school and became a nuclear engineer-- from what he's said, you have to request to be on a sub (and then there is a rigorous stress test) because they don't want to shove people on there who don't want to be there. I guess I don't know what would be wrong with being on a ship in the Gulf, relatively speaking. No, I wouldn't trade my life now to be on a ship in the gulf, that's for sure Quote Link to comment

I love the option, because you really do not need a stud QB...someone quick, strong and can throw a little to keep the D honest. Quote Link to comment

Army and Navy did quite well recruiting when the draft was in effect........If only NU could figure out a way to use that to our advantage and force all eligible men over 18 to come here......Nevermind Cally still wouldnt develope the players.
