Not Even a big Husker Fan but I'm sick

of watching Nebraska getting shellacked on a weekly basis. I remember when I was growing up in the 80's watching those awesome Oklahoma/Nebraska games when they both ran the wishbone and every game was an EVENT. I also remember when Nebraska would always beat LSU in the Sugar Bowl. There is no reason that a decent coach can't turn a team around in 4 years. Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Dan Hawkins?, Joe Glenn, Les Miles. This guy stinks and he is stinking up the whole college football experience. I don't care if Kansas, Kansas State or Missouri stink...this is frickin Nebraska. What the hel* was your AD thinking? This is almost as bad as San Diego Chargers hiring a known loser like Norv Turner. Ughhhh. I'd even be willing to give up Bo Pelini so you guys can have a decent team. Heck, we're probably going to lose Les Miles to Michigan but I think our AD, Skip Bertman, has a clue and would actually hire a coach that has a frickin game plan. I sure hope that contract extension can be broken.

(If you're wondering why I bothered to post on this board it's because I have some buddies that are Husker fans plus I'm from South Dakota and we always rooted for the Huskers. I went to LSU, that's why I'm a fan. The whole time I was at LSU we had a rotten coach and it wasn't fun). I'm out.

Welcome to the board LSU. Great post and thanks for the comments. Stick around. We'll be happy to talk football with ya.

Well, not to get off subject but...LSU lost. I wasn't that PO'd b/c it's kind of nice to see Kentucky good for once. Plus we shot ourselves in the foot numerous times and deserved to lose.

Anyway, back to NE. Don't know what else to say. I live in CO and I'm afraid those hippies in Boulder could run it up this year on ol' Callahan. How about instead of the the ol' Ball Coach which is Steve Spurrier's nickname we give Callahan the "ol Ball Sac" moniker? (hope that wasn't out of line)

Thanks for the support. Just one correction (I know it is knit-picking), but we never ran the wishbone. That was OU's offense. Once in a great while we would slip in a variation called the Os-bone, but that was rare. We ran the option out of an I formation (with multiple variations) most of the time.

See, our team stinks so much this year I would rather talk about variations of our offensive formations from 20 years ago, than to face what we have become. :madash

Nebraska ran the tripple option.

Sort of a side note, but I can run the triple option out of more formations when I go #2 than what I see on the field nowadays.

Alot of it is because even though NU beat alot of teams through the years, people all over the country respected our program and our fans. I ALWAYS hear from opposing fans how much they like playing Nebraska because of the atmosphere that Nebraska provides at home and on the road, and NU fans are respected as being knowledgable and kind fans.

You nailed it. Nebraska football needs to be great again. It's like living in some kind of parallel universe with the crap that has happened in the last two weeks with your program. I have great respect for Nebraska and her fans and feel a great deal of empathy over what you must be feeling right now.

It will turn around, I just hope it's soon. I don't think true college football fans take any joy in the current state of Nebraska football. I wish you and your team all the best and will raise a fist in the air of solidarity when you turn that corner back to greatness that is real Nebraska football.

Sorry to see LSU lose kind of like sec for some reason. (Might be because Nebraska has won 4 of their 5 NC by beating an SEC team. :)

With the way teams are falling by the wayside LSU still has a shot at the NC.
