Team Captains

Recommended Posts

Do the Huskers even have team captains this year? If so, what is up with that? I have heard nothing from them in these disastrous weeks.

Could this be a Solich Senior Mutiny? It is clear that there is an underlying problem with this team that we are not in on. The players that the press talk to seem to really like the coaching staff, so I don't think that it is a question of "losing the players."

Watch game film, especially the defense. Tell me what YOU see.

What I see is a team that doesn't believe in themselves or in the system that they're in.

What I see is a defense that does know how to, or refuses to, pursue a ball carrier or play disciplined football.

What I see is a bunch of guys getting their butts kicked, yet smiling and laughing and acting like a bunch of spoiled brats on the sideline.

What I see is a team that is uncoached.

Yes we have captains. Bowman tried when he gave back his Blackshirt earlier in the season, but no one followed. IMO, you're really not a leader or great leader if no one is willing to follow you.

Solich Mutiny? You have got to be kidding me. The clear underlying problem on D is quite simple. When a team is running over top of you, please try something besides a 3-4 D. Scheme is a big problem. When the same play beats you over and over for the entire game, it's the scheme (See 01 CU vs. NU game). When record points put up on us occur in the 3rd quarter, it's lack of adjustments at half and scheme.

IMO, this team had high expectations at the beginning of the season. The measuring stick for them was USC. After they got completely dominated in that game, things just started steam rolling against them. When you deflate a team like I believe happened against USC, it's very tough to get over this.
