T_O_Bull
During a discussion on Mike Turico's Show it was mentioned that the Patriots not only have an incredibility good football team but their strength and conditioning coach is the best in the business. He's got six Super Bowl rings to prove it. Reminds me that for most of TO's coaching career he had the best in the business as his S & C coach, Boyd Epley. Coach Epley used to take kids from small towns and literally build them into great football players. This is a pivitol position in the Athletic Department and we need to make sure the right person is in that spot. ...T_O_B Quote Link to comment
Cy the Cyclone
I find that the Missionary position is the...uh.... Damn...the thread title threw me On subject though, you are right. Hate to keep harping against Iowa but every year they suffer a large number of season ending injuries during fall practices, non-conference and early season games. By the end of the season the team is usually made up of a bunch of Freshmen mainly because of the lack of a decent strength and conditioning program. It breaks them every year like clockwork. BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA
Yes but Epley became less hands on his last few years due to his fund raising duties. I also believe he didn't want any of the players to do the bench press his last year. Plus there were several players that developed abdominal injuries his last couple years so they had to reexamine their approach and those disappeared when the new staff came in. Quote Link to comment
