Ohio Pete
ESPN reports Nebraska is "right there": Nathan Mayfield (Merced, Calif.) is one of the state's top defensive end prospects. He's not big at 6-2, 190 pounds and may have to convert to linebacker in college, but he has a motor and is very quick getting up the field. On the recruiting front, the lineman is nearing double digit scholarship offers and has five schools at the top of his list. "I like Cal a lot and I'm very familiar with their program," Mayfield said. "Colorado and Arizona State are right there as well. Oregon and Washington State would be the others in my top five, but Nebraska is right there as well. "I haven't set up any official visits yet. I do plan to take all five and probably won't commit anywhere until signing day." Quote Link to comment
