alphamale
1) What are your first impressions of this recruit (speed, strength, character, leadership, grades, etc)? Speed, Speed, Speed. That is something that NU has gotten away from on the defensive side for a while and SO will cure that problem. 2) Rank his importance to the Huskers 1-10 (10 the most important). 10 because the depth that we had a LB was not very good. This is an immediate upgrade at the position from someone with some actual playing experience 3) Will he contribute right away? In what capacity?Yes and he will be starting. Hopefully in a D. Williams or T. Farley mold. LB are just instictive and he already has the size to make a difference. I have wanted for the last 10 years to have a LB corp in the mold of the Fla St. and Miami LB and this group is just that. 4) Who does this player most remind you of?No one really that has been at NU. Most of the former NU LB's that were this fast for 6'0 200lbs. Maybe more of a Torrence Marshall from OU a couple of years ago. 5) Where do you see this player in 2009? In the NFL The LB's that NU got are a perfect fit. Moore, Dillard Covey and Octavian are all big and fast. You will see a different defense in Lincoln the next couple of years. A great one. kramer
1) What are your first impressions of this recruit (speed, strength, character, leadership, grades, etc)? Speed and also his willingness to not go with his first choice 2) Rank his importance to the Huskers 1-10 (10 the most important). 9- WE have no one at LB 3) Will he contribute right away? In what capacity? Has to, or else it would have been a wasted scholarship 4) Who does this player most remind you of? Williams from OU, now on the Cowboys 5) Where do you see this player in 2009? NFL Quote Link to comment
kramer
His nickname is "The Broadstreet Bully" Quote Link to comment
Pedro Guerrero
I hope this kat falls in the mold of D. Williams and Farrley. We need his speed at LB. This guy must play right away. Quote Link to comment
joshuavacek
I bet we see a lot of freshmen like Octavian playing next year. Where can I get a ticket for the spring game???? Quote Link to comment
oviedol55
1) What are your first impressions of this recruit (speed, strength, character, leadership, grades, etc)? Provides that speed we need at OLB, what we lacked this year (see: 70-10). Haven't ever seen any film on him, so I couldn't tell you. He's enrolled at NU already with Zac Taylor, Ola Dagunduro, Barry Cryer and Dontrell Moore. 2) Rank his importance to the Huskers 1-10 (10 the most important). 10. We need that speed that he, Moore, Dillard and Covey will all provide int he near future at LB. 3) Will he contribute right away? In what capacity? He'll start at WILL, although apparently Cally is very high on Andy Kadavy (Special K?). 4) Who does this player most remind you of? Definitely not Roy Williams. Hopefully Farley or Demorrio. 5) Where do you see this player in 2009? Gone. Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt34
1) What are your first impressions of this recruit (speed, strength, character, leadership, grades, etc)? He is another one of the Miami type backers that Neb has been sorely missing. He isnt the best recruit coming in, with the good quality of backers we got, but he could easily climb the ladder. 2) Rank his importance to the Huskers 1-10 (10 the most important). 6 3) Will he contribute right away? In what capacity? Yes, all three LBs will contribute right away in alot of games. 4) Who does this player most remind you of? Donaterious Thomas (sp, Auburn) 5) Where do you see this player in 2009? drafted Quote Link to comment

oviedol55
FYI, Cosgrove's plans are to keep Stew at SAM and plug in Dontrell at MIKE. So Stew has SAM on lockdown with a little pressure from Bo Ruud, it's a fight between Dontrell and Dillard for MIKE, and Kadavy and Octavien will fight it out for WILL next season. Apparently Callahan is very high on Andy Kadavy. Quote Link to comment

According to his bio, in spring of 2003 he really impressed the coaches while working the middle. Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
Right now, hands down he's doing the best out of all the newcomers Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt34
Excellent sign for this year's recruiting class if I may say so myself. Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
Especially after the scrimmage, Octavian has to be the odds on favorite to start over Ruud. He recovered a fumble for a 47 yard touchdown. Quote Link to comment
