MLB draft

Recommended Posts

Pirbanic was picked 98th overall (third round) today by the Seattle Mariners. He is still a junior but I am not expecting him to return next year, I hope he does, but not betting on it. Frankly he wasn't that dominate of a pitcher for NU. But neither was Joba his last year and look where he is.

edit- after the interview w/ 1620, he is gone

On a side note, the one that got away Connor Gillaspie from Millard North that went to Witchita St, was drafted by the Giants 37th overall. Now he is refusing to talk about it becuase he is mad about being so low of a pick. :wtf

The Cubs switched to position players in the 12th and 13th rounds. They grabbed second baseman Jake Opitz, once nicknamed "Cadillac" by his coaches at Nebraska for his flashy attitude, with pick No. 341.

Go get um Opie!!! I would love to see him playing the second bag for my Cubbies some day!
