Please keep in mind that I wrote this site 11 years ago, so things are a bit out of date. The site is an important historical archive, however. ;-) Over the years the Far East League has proven to be one of the most popular episodes. cb1954 Posted January 15, 2009 Share Posted January 15, 2009 Michigan also claims the 1947 AP NC, even though Notre Dame was the official AP champ. that year. - The AP did a special unofficial vote after the bowl games that Michigan won, (back then the final AP poll was done before the bowl games). About the only place you will see Michigan listed as the AP champion that year is the Michigan media guide.
