I've always been for lower base salary and bigger incentives. I don't know all the details of Bo's contract but I would guess there are pretty good bonuses in his contract.

I hope fewer players redshirt this year. Hopefully due to the fact that they're too good to sit instead of injuries or lack of depth.

Deep down I feel like we're rivals (but will never admit it). Everything is there for us to be rivals (our states share a border, we play every year, in recent years the game has meant something (bowling or not - ok it's not national championships but the Army Navy game is quite the rivalry and they're not playing for NCs). Everything points to a rivalry.

I hope Chris Brooks. He was supposed to be a great talent when he came here but undersized for the college game. I believe he's bulked up nicely and I sure hope it pays off for him. Sounds like he's put in a lot of time and effort.

The responses in this thread are kind of funny. How many of us were excited then disappointed with Calli's recruiting? Excited to see all those "studs" signing for Nebraska. Then disappointed when they either didn't pan out or transferred. Have we not learned our lesson?

There are always two sides to the story. We may at some point find out (probably not) but still this does not look good for the program. Pelini knew it would not look good for the program. I'm guessing he didn't make this decision w/out significant consideration. All we should be doing is wishing the young man good luck whever he may end up.

What is the purpose of the spring game? I would say, 1. it's a reward for all of the player's hard work during the spring practices, 2. great recruiting tool, 3. great money maker for the program, 4. as close to game type action a lot of the younger players will experience before the first game of the season, 5. a way for the coaches to evaluate where there players are.

I might try to make it. Supposed to go to the K-state spring game. Might hit the NU game then travel to Manhatten. Hope their game is a night game. This would be the first spring game I've missed in 8 years...

This will be the second shutout of the year for us. They'll keep it close in the first 5 minutes but we'll pull away with 21 second quarter points.
