Huskergod Killer
Does anyone know if there are any posssible NQ from this 2009 class? I'm concerned about these guys. D. Washington J. Ankrah D. Byrd I hope all qualify, but every year there are casualties. Does Bo/Staff recruit guys that could be risky? Thanks. Quote Link to comment

Huskergod Killer
Norman was never going to qualify. Looks like he's going to Portland St.Wow,what a drop! Quote Link to comment
GlobalHusker
This was on the Ankrah topic also... It's a list of Prep School / JUCO Candidates on Yahoo/Rivals: Yahoo/Rivals Ankrah is on the list... But if you look at the names...there's some marquee players on that list. Quote Link to comment
Huskergod Killer
D.Byrd to Juco. Quote Link to comment
missouri_husker24
D.Byrd to Juco. That sucks, but if it's only him than 20 out of 21 is pretty good. I just hope we get Ankrah. Quote Link to comment

Worst case scenario is that neither Ankrah or Washington make the grades. If so, then, arguably, with Ankrah, Washington and Byrd not qualifying, then 3 of our top 7 or so recruits (with Ankrah and Washington likely in our top 4) will not wear red. that would take this class, now rated at ca. 30 nationally down to about 4o or so and render this as a rather weak class. Best case scenario both Ankrah and Washington make it and we have a decent class (#30 or so). Even a best case scenario places NU a solid 15 places below where I thought they might be in recruiting this year. A worse case scenario would, well.... be worse. Overall, this class --- at least on paper and this early, is not where NU needs to be if climbing the pack is in view. Maybe, in due course, this class will prove much better than the "expert ranking" they are characterized with now. But at least on paper at this point, this class is modestly disappointing --- and further grade casualties will make it worse. Ankrah especially, but Washington too are really central to this class. redout22
To bad we lost Byrd. At least we kept Ankrah and Washington Quote Link to comment
robsker
To bad we lost Byrd. At least we kept Ankrah and Washington Signing and qualifying are two different things. It is not certain that either will qualify --- that remains to be seen. Hopefully they will, and perhaps they will. That said, we have not "kept" anyone yet. What remains is the remainder of the HS year (and potentially summer) and test scores before we know who will actually qualify. Quote Link to comment
