SOCALHUSKER
Better cornerback and safety play. Especially Asante. I don't see how someone can get beat so many times and still play!! You can't put that all on Asante. Just because he was the closest player to the receiver doesn't always mean it was his fault. (ex. if he has is covering the over and the corner is supposed to have the under . . . and the corner isn't where he is supposed to be . . .) It's easy to blame the safeties (and sometimes they deserve that blame) but just because they are the closest to the open receiver doesn't necessarily mean that they are the player who erred. Who said he was closest to the receiver? If anything, what I was referring to was not seeing him anywhere near a receiver or the play for that matter. A safety is just that, a safety!! The last lines of defense and you'd be hard pressed to find very many plays where Asante fulfilled that role. Most of his time was spent trying to play over-the-top, but he never seemed to be in position to make any plays, and if he was, he dropped the ball or missed tackles. Regardless, I'm well aware that others screwed up too and I maybe harping too much on Asante, but he is part of the secondary and that's the area I believe needs the most work. Quote Link to comment
NUance
Net takeaways. Last year 17 turnovers gained (97th in nation) vs. 28 lost (93rd). This sucks. Quote Link to comment
