dawhuskerkc
Following Husker BB this offseason has been fun, bit of a roller coaster but right now....as it all comes together, Docs presser yesterday should have made everyone very happy. The Great news yesterday, Doc gets C Standhardinger in January, gets an extra scholarship to cover Coleman. This BB team will be NU's best in a really long time. The talent level has gone way up. CS is supposed to be very very good player. Should make for an excellent season and give the Red a shot at some post season action. Scoring will go way up from this bunch, inside paint points will be so much better than the last several years. Outside scoring also willl be far better CS and Holley can both shoot. Doc is saying Redshirts will be less and less a tool...which he believes is a function of impatience of players. Injury took Bear last season, and Nieman this season. Nieman will get back next fall. Bear is ready now. cant help but get a bit excited about this team..... last years games were fairly exciting Doc showed his mettle by going all D all the time, remembering the Texas game W in particular...those kids just flat out were in opponents heads the whole game. Getting it done without Diaz was great for Diaz and the program....now this new batch has all kinds of talent, it will be very interesting to see how he maxes thier potential, the rotations we will have will create problems and present opportunities we never had last year. some of you guys that get to see the practices should chime in, tell those of us far removed what your seeing.... give us some perspectives on the rotations and the kind of tempo that can be arranged by this depth chart. mmmtodd
im stoked. was talking with my cousin, who graduated last year and was a letterwinning walk-on, and they are pushing, running hard. doc is finally getting the talent he wants to run his system..nothing is changing really, other than the fact he is going to have the athletes across the entire floor to run his in your face defense. the years of trying to work around the big australian and etc are coming to an end. im excited to see us just harass people to the very end. theres a reason doc shows up at football practices and likes to swap stories with the Bo... huzkerbob
I will believe Husker BB has turned a corner when they finally start winning some conference games, not just beating the Arkansas Pine Bluff's on their schedule.......... Quote Link to comment
mmmtodd
7-9, 8-8, its getting better man, not worse. that 8-8 doesnt show the very real fear coaches in the big 12 have of playing one of docs teams. its coming, i have faith. you know what im really stoked about? the yearly Creighton beatdowns. now THAT makes smile.
