Rep The 402
Who is your most surprising player this season and why? Quote Link to comment
KansasHusker
Jared Crick. His numbers are great. He may play alongside Suh, but he is still very young and has a great future. Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
Dejon Gomes. Before the Missouri int. no one new who he was, no he's turned into an awesoem go-to lockdown in the nickel. Quote Link to comment

I definatly agree with you. I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot from this kid, and possibly as great as Suh or even better Quote Link to comment
Nexus
Crick on D for the obvious reasons. His stats speak for itself. Burkhead on O. Even though he missed 5 games this year, I can't remember the last time I heard Husker fans missing a true freshman at any position. While his earlier stats weren't anything groundbreaking, he was productive when we needed him most. He complements Helu wonderfully. Then after his performance at CU, he made a legitimate statement. His future looks bright at NU. Quote Link to comment
redout22
Larry Asante. I love the way he plays and hits even if some of you disagree with some of the hits that he makes I knew Asante would be pretty good this year but he really surprised me on how well he really did play. np_husker
Burkhead. I was worried about the hype, but he's the real deal. Amazing how he's done so well so fast. Quote Link to comment

Rep The 402
I think Burkhead by his junior year could be up for heisman, the way he's playing as a freshman give this kid two years he'll be up for heisman Quote Link to comment
Nexus
I mentioned in another thread the other day that if Burkhead were to put on about 15-20 pounds of muscle, he could be our future Toby Gerhart. Quote Link to comment

Nah, just the future Rex Burkhead. I agree that Crick had an awesome year, but to me, i saw it coming because I knew Suh was gonna reel alot of Double teams and free Crick up play after play. Next year, Crick will do the same for Steinkuhler and so on, so on. Quote Link to comment
n.e.husker
Salutation My vote is for the Prince. Prince has really come into his own this year as a lock down corner. Im very excited to see where his game will be next year. Our defensive backfield as a whole has been steller. Quote Link to comment

Paul in WI
I think it is a really good sign for next year when people come up with so many different names rather than all agreeing on just one. I've been surprised with the play of a lot of players. The defense has some future stars on it for sure. I wouldn't even know where to begin, considering our play on D last year. On offense, even Roy Helu (when healthy) surprised me, because he's shown more talent than I personally thought he had. Burkhead is a phenom as a freshman, but coming in with a nickname like "Superman" took away some from the surprise. lol I'm proud of the way so many have stepped up in a big way.
