This class so far...

Recommended Posts

Is pretty darn good in my opinion, I dont think I have ever been excited for a class as I am with this one. Could be a special one. Come on home Aaron Green. I am excited about every kid in this class right now, all 7 of them. :koolaid2::horns2:bonez:woo

I just wanted to get that off my chest!

Are you kidding?! It's just a bunch of boring fat ol' linemen, a track star qb who can't throw the ball, a dt who WISHES he was Suh, and a no name safety. What's to get excited about? We lost out on Grimble and he was the end all be all for us!

:sarcasm

I love each and every one of them. Recruiting thus far has been fantastic to watch. I feel like this year the sky is the limit. Really nice job coaches! :restore

With several more defensive prospects coming up for visits/camps this summer I wouldn't be suprised if we don't get 1-2 more DB, DL commits before season. S Lyndell Johnson from Texas is planning on coming up this summer and we are one of his top schools right now, DT Gerrand Johnson is supposed to come up from Louisiana to camp at NU this summer, CB Josh Turner plans to come up from Oklahoma to camp this summer at NU, as well as some others possibly..... we could easily get a couple more commits before season starts.

My guess is that our final OL guy will hold out for a while, RB Aaron Green is not going to announce until early 2011 but will most likely choose us, and we'll pick up some receivers during the season...

On defense we'll pick up another DT sometime before September, we'll get our DE's during the season, same with our LB's, we'll get another DB before season starts and then the rest during season...

My prediction is that NU will have 9 commits before season starts... we'll pick up 12-13 during season and bowl season, and then we'll pick up 4-5 recruit between our bowl game and signing day...these are just my guesses. It's fun to predict these things and see if you were right later... what are ya'lls guesses?

I would think that we might be able to pick up maye 3 or 4 before the season with all of the camps/summer visits going on. I'm really not sure after that because I dono't know how many the coaches are looking to take in this class. Before some attrition, wasn't the number pretty low (15 or 16)? If 17 is the magic number, I'd say 9 or 10 when the season starts, maybe 2 or 3 mid-level guys during the season and then between 4-6 "high profile, wait until signing day" types of guys to round the class out, again though, it all depends on how many the coaches are looking to take.

I defintaly agree, with official visits, in-home visits could get intersting. But I think we are going have to wait later than september to get the next DT. It will either be Todd Peat, Todd Barr, or Mickey Johnson. Even though we are high an all of their lists they all are still interested in other schools and will visit those schools. I see us trying to grab atleast 2-3 receievers in this class. Only one RB (take a guess). Maybe 2-3 DE's depending on if they are big fish or not. One more OL (most likely a tackle). DB's will be very important in this class, so I would expect 3-4 or more.

I'm guessing we start the season with double digit (10) commits. I think Davie will be offered during the summer and accept shortly after. The same may be said about Fisher, but I don't know how much the coaches will know about his knee by then. During the regular season, I think we will pick up another 7-8 commits. I'm guessing we fill all but 3-5 spots prior to the bowl game, and we'll probably hold a spot or two for signing day announcements.

Shoot... i'm just excited to see the rivals rankings come out, and then our guys' stars grow throughout their senior seasons... that Bouzos kid is gonna start at a low 3* and probably be a 4* before the season's over... he's a great hitter, has great field vision, and speed... if he can get his speed down to a 4.4 and if he can put on about 10-15 lbs of muscle he'll be a 4* for sure... he's got a year to do it... that's plenty of time to add 15 lbs and increase some speed. His coach said he already squats 420-450 and benches 320-350... so he's got some strength.

Bryan Munson said that Scout's recruiting analyst in California saw Bouzos as a top 50 kid in the state of California. If Rivals agrees, then Bouzos will likely start out as a 5.7-3* based off of past California state rankings.

This class is supposed to be bigger than last year. We have at least 21 scholarship seniors and we have that left over scholarship from this year (we are at 84 instead of the 85 limit). So that makes 22 right there, plus we may lose a couple. I would say we are taking 23. They have already said they want 5 OL, 4 DL, 2 RB, 2 QB, and 3 WR. Add in our high need at DB (probably 4) and 1-2 LB. That puts us at 22. Expect an athlete somewhere and of course numbers change if the right guys want N we will let them be N. By the season I think we are at 10. I think Davie is a good guess for us to get and Fisher if he is offered (I bet they look at his knee when he camps). I see us getting A. Green whenever he decides since he may not wait to signing day now. I think another 2 DL, the OL, 2 wr, 1 rb, and the other QB are N during the season. DB's are hard to project at this point, lots of guys like us, but they keep changing commitment times. I would say one more DB before season, 1 during, and 1 after.

Edit: Changed the A. Green from signing day to whenever he decides due to new updates.

Great post! But 23 is a new number for me. I have been hearing they plan on taking 25... they have the 21 seniors plus the extra scholarship at 22, and then they'll find some ways to get 3 more spots if the right guys come along. But I mean they could only take 23, cuz your post makes sense... I guess we'll find out in february. :) I have been hearing the same numbers in terms of 5 OL, 4 DL, 2 RB, 2 QB, 3 WR, but I have heard 2 LB, 5 DB, and then a really good K/P cuz we haven't taken one in a while... I realize teams usually let K/P walk on, but I wouldn't be suprised if Bo takes a scholarship K/P to try and ensure he gets the best in the country cuz we haven't taken any in a while. Jason Dann is walking on this year but he's unproven and we lose Kunalik and Henrey this year. So it might be smart to nab a #1 or #2 kicker in the country by offering a scholie. If we do that would put us a 24 with room for an Athlete/Special Teams specialist.

I dont know about the kicker thing. Bo has stated many time that the "specialists" (k, p, ls) are brought in as walk ons and must earn scholarships. Also Jason Dann isn't "unproven" he was one of the best kickers available last year and chose to walk on here when he could have waited for a scholarship elsewhere. The kid has done very well at many camps and during the season.

Ryne Reeves - Nebraska (Big 12)

Tyler Moore - Florida (SEC/ACC)

Jamal Turner - Texas (Big 12)

Dylan Admire - Kansas (Big 12)

Ryan Klachko - Illinois (Big 10)

Kevin Williams - Ohio (Big 10)

Aaryn Bouzos - California (Pac-10)

^^ That's the chronological order of when they committed. Notice that so far we don't have two from the same state yet?

This is just a question. Do you think of the possibility of us joining the big 10 maybe our recruiting in big 10 country might open up a bit this year? Like, more kids from the ohio, and illions and michigan states

I hope so. I hear the kids from the illions are freaks.
