#3 in Steele's Power Rankings

hmm looked at his bowl projections. He has us as the Big XII champ in the Fiesta bowl against Pitt. BUT he also has Oklahoma in NCG against Ohio State! How is that supposed to work?

The stuff that says Big 12 Champ and At-Large are what the bowls are supposed to have, but naturally if the Big 12 Champ is ranked 1 or 2 they go to the BCS NCG instead of the Fiesta Bowl.

I don't get the Phil Steele love. He's about as accurate as a fortune-teller (50/50)

Phil Steele love gets the love because he is the most accurate fortune-teller. The studies show that over the last 10 years his preseason rankings have come the closest to the final rankings.

I partially think he is the most accurate because he is one of the few people smart enough to not make power rankings for the preseason but tries to predict the final rankings (or it might be rankings after conference championship games)

I believe that would mean we'd be an At Large BCS team and he's projecting OU to win the conference and play in the MNC Game and us to play in the Fiesta Bowl, with one loss, that loss coming to OU.

AND we get an additional $500,000 from the former Big 12 Conference. Bwahahaha

But the Fiesta Bowl is taking the Big 12 Champions which according to Steele, would be us. Which would mean we would have beaten UT once, maybe twice if they made it to the CCG or UT lost the RRR and we beat OU in the CCG. How would that make OU the BCS #1

Incorrect. The Fiesta takes the B12 champion only if the B12 champion does NOT get in the NC game. In Steele's scenario, OU is the B12 champ and goes to the NC game (which allows the Fiesta to fill that spot with another team), and the Fiesta picks NU.

That makes sense I guess

Do you get the option? Why would anyone want to play for a MNC when you can play in the Fiesta Bowl ;)
