NUance Posted January 15, 2011 Share Posted January 15, 2011 The Huskers will host Nebraska-Kearney, Nebraska-Omaha, Hastings College, Wayne State, Nebraska Wesleyan, Concordia, Northwest Missouri State and others in the two-day meet that starts at 4 p.m. Friday and concludes Saturday, with track and field finals starting at noon.With NCAA indoor champion Nicholas Gordon, Bobby Carter and Phipps, the Huskers figure to dominate in their final Big 12 season, and challenge for NCAA indoor and outdoor titles in the long jump and triple jump. Phipps, who finished fifth in the NCAA outdoor championships last June, has a personal best jump of 26 feet, 7¾ inches he notched at the USA Seniors meet last summer in Des Moines, Iowa. He had a best triple jump of 52-6 at last year's Big 12 outdoor meet. LINK Chris Phipps, Bobby Carter and Nicholas Gordon, long and triple jumps. The jumps core will be the strength of this years team.....side note--Tyrell Ross graduated. Adidas Classic is this Saturday...be there! All D-1 teams this weekend! Quote Link to comment
