13th Street Bridge Liquor store/Motel

All this talk about beers in another post brought back some memories. I have to ask some of you older guys/gals who lived in Omaha during the mid to late 80's, if you remembered the old liquor store/motel across the 13th street bridge into Iowa? The place was nicknamed "Iranian Jims" and the guy would sell to anyone who had facial hair. My buddies and I (from Bellevue) used to hit that place every Friday and Saturday night. Just curious if anyone else ever been there back in the day....Ahh such good times back then

Most of my under-age buying was done at a gas station near the interstate. They were fine with it as long as I was discreet--no other customers around. When I was at UNL and still under-aged I found out it was easier to buy a whole keg than a 12-pack. And I did.
