hoyamannn
I read on another board today from a long-time booster of the program, he basically said he was around when the masses were calling for Devaney to be removed, and then when TO was given the reigns the masses once again were fired up and ready to hang him. If we wouldn't have stuck w/these two great coaches that had a great vision and leadership at that time we would not have won any titles here at NU. Now, when the going gets tough, here come the nay-sayers calling for the coaches to have their "throats slashed" and get out of town. These people don't see the positive direction the team is headed, are not aware of the road ahead and are just looking at the here and now. Most of the passion for a football team comes from the recent game, and the KU game was HORRIBLE. But if you take time to look at where we're headed, we're definitely going forward and not in reverse any longer. We're not moving very fast, but we will. The 1st sign of weakness is giving up, and I definitely know I haven't given up on the team or the coaches yet. Quote Link to comment

Like I said previously, the same thing could be said for Solich, and IMO, the comparison between FS and BD/TO is more appropriate than comparing billy c to BD/TO. The only thing positive was 1 highly rated recruiting class. Thats it. This team is getting worse by the week, not better. The only direction they are headed is Quote Link to comment
NamelessHusker
It was all neccessary. NU became 1 dimensional and could not pass the ball to save its life in solich's final 3 years. And now they can’t run OR pass to save their lives. Brilliant! Solich's offense became to predictable and lacked creativity. The QB was running more with the ball then the DAMN RB/IB was. But qb sack on 1st down, 3 yard out to the TE on 2nd, and unsuccessful screen pass on 3rd down is more creative. Solich was not successful without Tom's recruits, plain and simple. Whether you like it or not. Whether you like it or not, billy c has not been very successful anywhere. Someone else brought up his records as a HC and an assistant, something like 27-28 as a head coach, 8-10 vs NCAA Div 1 opponents. His record as an assistant wasnt much better. And now they can’t run OR pass to save their lives. Brilliant! We will see how well your argument holds up in 2 years when all of the offensive line starting in 2007 should be Callahan's kids.
