Muck
As long as the coaches ballots are secret the all conferences selections will always be a joke. Good to see Mauti from Penn State LB of the year. Why? Quote Link to comment
Coqui
DB list as a whole is a joke How so? I think he's saying that it is shocking that the #1/#2 secondary in the nation does not have one person on the awards list. You're going off of pass defense which is related to the line and LBs as well. This is strictly based on individual ability to shut down the pass. Damon Stafford is ranked 67th and is the highest ranked DB, In comparison, Bradley Roby is ranked 4th. I would agree line and LB affect this. Doesn't OSU have two offensive linemen on first-team, including B1G sack leader? Also, Shazier > Compton. Makes it more impressive what the Nebraska secondary has accomplished. I don't think Daimion was deserving of second-team. I think Ciante was deserving of first-team. Roby, of course, too. Depends. Not a single coach voted a single offensive player to first team. Miller and Norwell were voted by the media though. And it speaks to Nebraska as a whole. The downside to having a complete defense is individuals don't get as easily recognized. Shazier, destroyed every candidate stat-wise as a LB but didn't get best B1G LB Quote Link to comment
