New Orleans Shooting on Mothers Day and the Gun Laws There

Recommended Posts

+/-17 people where shot by 1-3 shooters who seem to have some of the worst aim of anyone guilty of a mass shooting as nobody, thank heavens, was killed.

The shooting was stopped when several NRA members with concealled weapons broke up the would be mass killing before police arrived minutes later.

CORRECTION: Police were on the scene & the suspecst immediately ran after shooting into the crowd. The gun laws there are some of the strictest.

CORRECTION: Louisiana just advanced a law that says if the federal gov tries to restrict gun laws, the federal laws can't be enforced there. What's more, the "state's rush to be the most gun-lenient in the nation has made Louisiana a place where convicted felons can also claim the unimpeded right to bear arms"--pending a higher court ruling to clarify conflicting lower court rulings about effect of a recent ammendment passed to the state's contitution. In 2010, LA had a record high gun death rate 2.5 times the nation average. How are they addressing that? A new law moving through the statehouse would allow anyone to carry their gun into a bar.

Happy Mothers Day.

Depends on the gun, distance, if the target is moving or stationary, and how good of a shot the person is.

Based on the media reports, the shooter(s) were walking toward the -- as you called them -- targets, who were running like crazy as soon as the first shot was fired. It appeared to a handgun in one of the images that has been released.
