HUSKERS WIN!!!!!

Recommended Posts

33-25 OU at half...not a real bad first half, but many things need to happen to win this one. my thoughts:

-Maric in his few minutes of play almost looks uninterested in playing, don't know if that is because of his injury or what...

-offensive rebounding by OU was killing us late in the half, no huskers have even been in sight sometime.

someone has to stuff bookout with that cheap little dish it to him underneath and let him hit a 1 footer, thats all the guy has...although oddly enough he made a steal at the top of the key and dunked it...

-wilkinson's head isn't in the game, he missed 3 not even hitting the rim

-bj walker and maric were right under the hoop they both miss 1 foot attempts in a row the ou gets it, at some point that kind of play has to stop

-poor passing, and also pass receiving

-m. walker has been nowhere to be found so far

-too many open looks were given toward the 2nd part of the 1st half

all in all mccray looks a lot better, and we just need to fight more for rebounds and passes that are contested, in other words BE THERE, meaning get to where the ball is!...if we do that and keep shooting it should be a good game till the end.

Late heroics lead Nebraska past Sooners

ERIC OLSONAssociated PressLINCOLN, Neb. - Joe McCray hit a 3-pointer with 5.2 seconds left to give Nebraska a 59-58 victory over 12th-ranked Oklahoma on Saturday.

The victory was the Cornhuskers' first over Oklahoma in eight meetings since 1999 and their first over a Top 25 opponent since beating then-No. 4 Oklahoma State last February.

McCray's winning shot came after Wes Wilkinson stole a pass from Terrell Everett. Charles Richardson Jr. passed to McCray, who sank his 20-footer from the wing.

Everett's running shot bounced off the backboard at the buzzer, prompting the Nebraska student section to spill on the floor. Several students lifted McCray on their shoulders and bounced him up and down.

Jason Dourisseau had 12 of his 17 points in the second half, when the Huskers overcame a 10-point deficit. Richardson, who hit a 3 to pull the Huskers to 58-56 with 23 seconds left, had a career-high 15 points. McCray, who made 4-of-8 3s, finished with 12.

Kevin Bookout led Oklahoma (9-3, 0-1 Big 12) with 14 points before fouling out with 2:42 left.

David Godbold added 13 points, Everett 11 points and Taj Gray eight points and 10 rebounds.

Nebraska (11-3, 1-0 Big 12) trailed 56-50 after Longar Longar dunked for the Sooners. After two free throws by Godbold made it 58-53, Richardson hit a clutch 3-pointer after Dourisseau missed twice from close range.

Early on, Richardson hit a 3-pointer to pull Nebraska to 24-23, but the Sooners went on an 11-2 run over a five-minute stretch to take a 35-25 lead. Nebraska answered with a 12-2 spurt to tie it at 40. Dourisseau had seven of the 12 points, with a 3-pointer to start the run and a jumper from the top of the key to end it.
