Roxy15
This is one of my favorite dishes. Great Northern Beans: Use a slotted spoon to put it on your serving dish so the water isn’t in it. I put what I want in another pan on the stove and put shredded cheddar cheese on top and stir it until it melts. You can also use cut up bacon instead of ham hocks. I bet green chiles/jalapenos and hot sauce would be good in it also. 1 lb. Great Northern Beans 1 White Onion, Diced 1 Bunch Garlic, Separate Cloves 1 Green Bell Pepper, Diced Deli Ham Hocks ***I Sometimes Put Baby Red Potatoes In It In a bowl, soak Great Northern Beans in water overnight in the refrigerator. In the morning, drain off water in the Great Northern Beans. Put Great Northern Beans in Dutch Oven Cover Great Northern Beans in water; bring to a boil. Add 1 chopped white onion, 1 diced green bell pepper, garlic cloves and ham hocks; stir well. Cook on LOW all day on the stove, stirring occasionally. Quote Link to comment
