TonyStalloni
Like a dumbass I needed to upgrade flash drive recently and instead of going to the proper place I went to a site that has installed "searchbenny" on this Macbook. In doing some reading I find that many of the websites claiming to give tech info about removing it are actually a worm that will infest the pc on a deeper level. Anyone with info or experience on removing this trojan? Quote Link to comment
ColoNoCoHusker
Not saying you aren't infected with a trojan, but it sounds like this is typically adware/ransomware. A PITA but not be all that bad if that's all it turns out to be. Lots of info removing this on Apple's support & discussion site. That would probably be your best resource and should get you going. It sounds like it may be rebranded Conduit search hijacker. If that is the case, you should be fine once you clean it out.
