Mavric
Florida State’s football team didn’t win a national title, conference championship, or bowl game last season, but the players earned a ring anyway for the distinction of being good in Florida. Congratulations to the good Florida team. Since FSU beat Miami, Florida, and South Florida, they were considered the best college football team in Florida, by FSU. Central Florida, Florida International, and Florida Atlantic didn’t play the Seminoles and apparently weren’t considered to be in the running, but that’s okay, because they all sucked in 2015. The side of the ring acknowledges the team’s trip to the Peach Bowl. FSU lost to Houston, 38-24. Deadspin Quote Link to comment
AR Husker Fan
I'm sure the players will treasure those rings the rest of their lives... Quote Link to comment
Kiyoat Husker
To Florida State for Peach Bowl Loss.... To Iowa for Rose Bowl Loss... To Ole Miss for Peach Bowl Loss... To Oklahoma State for Cotton Bowl Loss... This is turning into a ridiculous trend. We should come up with a name for rings like this. Atta' boy rings, Participation rings, Almost Championship Rings, Good Try Rings, Good Enough Rings, Better-than-Average Rings, .... I'm drawing a blank. Embarrassing to wear one of these Feaux-Champ Rings. Quote Link to comment

I'm sure that most of these meaningless gold and diamond souvenirs of making it to a bowl (something that more than half of FBS teams do), or the rings that signify winning your weak-ass conference, or even worse - being the "Western-Division" champs or "Northern-Division" champs of a conference....I'm sure that they end up being sold off to collectors or being pawned. This is a way for players to make money from the team without violating NCAA rules. Of course the selling of the ring violates the rules if the player is still part of the team....but those sales would be so hard to trace. Quote Link to comment
