slacker
Irregular News for 05.18.06 Tennessee -- State troopers say a Pennsylvania man trying to kill himself caused an interstate highway crash that injured a young Memphis man. Investigators say 21-year-old David Rockwell of Loysville, Pennsylvania, was traveling Interstate 40 about halfway between Nashville and Knoxville yesterday afternoon. Troopers say he pulled to the roadside, climbed an overpass and jumped onto the highway in an apparent suicide attempt. Trooper Tim Kring says Rockwell dropped 20 feet to the pavement, but landed in a squat and rolled out of the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer rig. A car behind the truck quickly changed lanes and ran into the back of another rig, which rolled on without stopping. The car driver, 19-year-old Steven Cole of Memphis, was injured, but is expected to recover. Rockwell suffered no apparent injuries. Troopers didn't file any immediate charges. source Quote Link to comment
BigRedJake
I had a friend in HS who commited suicide by pulling his car into one of those emergency lanes between the northbound and southbound lanes of I-25 and pulling in front of a semi at the last minute. The resultant pileup killed 2 other people. Quote Link to comment
