Looking for Husker fans in New Jersey/New York

Recommended Posts

Looking for fellow Husker fans in the New Jersey/New York area who get together to watch a game or 3 and :cheers during the season - I am in Hudson County NJ anyone close?

Very easy......go to the New York Society for Nebraska website....I was there last year for the NU/ MU game. Very easy to get to . Take NJ Transit into the city...it can't be more than 5 blocks from the port authority., You could get drunk as sh#t and not have to drive. very resonable priced beer for the city.

Do you drink a lot of beer, from some of the posts it sounds like you enjoy the suds as much as I do. :cheers

Try not to before the game, but afterward it's on. Last year when we returned from the city, I had to stop at a few of the old bars we hung out at as teenagers in the city with my buddy Biggie, who is quite a large human and can do some damage at the bar as well. After a few dozen beers at the game, shots, cocktails and a Fosters oil can for the ride home on the bus, my friend went face first into the pavement exiting the bus. He proceeded to take a leak of his third story apartment before failing down a dozen or so stairs.

But yeah I usually stay away from going to bars to watch away games because I spend to much money. My basement is just to comfortable.

This is an email I get

Husker Fans!

The Nebraska Society of New York invites you to watch the Nebraska Cornhuskers take on LA Tech this Sat, Setp 2nd at The Irish Rogue for a 3:40 PM EST kickoff.

The same great food and drink specials are available to NSNY members. If you are a paid member, check with NSNY board members at the bar to get a stamp / wristband - if you aren't a paid member, there will be a short application form as before to fill out with dues of $25 for a yearly membership or $250 for a life membership to receive the food and drink specials as well as help keep the NSNY running, hang banners in Memorial Stadium, fund scholarships and the like.

Let me know this weekend if you're interested in getting involved with the NSNY - we have positions open that could use some great Nebraskian support! There will be an email next week, and a more formal meeting to prior to next week's game to plan events for the year.

We'll see you this Sat at The Irish Rogue located at 356 W. 44th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues.

GO BIG RED!

Marcee Raffel
