  1. I have no problem with playing BC. I thinks its a must that they get that 12th game scheduled. I think the defense has improved except for a couple missed assignments which led to some big plays but its much better than last year. The stupid penalties on third and longs is what has cost this team the most. I guess where I really messed up this year is that I think I expected way too much from Frost and his team this year. He inherited a mess and to expect 8-9 wins this season was maybe not a reality.
  2. Wearing RED in Maryland. Huskers are going to roll. Bring on the BIG Ten. Can't wait.
  3. Wearing RED in Pennsylvania, anticipating a big HUSKER victory.
  4. I watch the game at a bar in Conshohocken, Pa. outside of Philadelphia where the Pennsylvania Chapter has their game watches. I've been going there for probably about 10 years and we usually have anywhere from 30-50 people attending. Went there Saturday expecting about the same but I got there about 10 minutes before kickoff, Nebraska fans had taken over the whole restaurant and car loads of people just kept showing up. I think we counted around 125 total. The owner of the bar even pumped in the Big Red Fight song during half time. It was awesome. From what I've read, Husker fans around the country are excited about Bo and anxious to see him turn this team around. From Saturday's performance, he is on his way. Lets just take it one game at a time. Go Huskers!
  5. I'm a transplanted Big Red fan who lives south of Philadelphia and we have a fair amount of Big Red fans around here. The Pa fo Nebraska booster club meets for every game, around 40- 60 average attendance. Can't wait for tomorrow, always nervous waiting for that first game of the year kickoff. Nothing like a Saturday afternoon of Big Red football, red beers, and wings. Life is good! GO HUSKERS!
  6. I think the true measuring stick for the team comes this week. How well they'll respond following a loss. They need to show all these naysayers that they are good and they had a bad game. If they come out and play sluggish for a half then we can say the lose has really taken the air out of their sails but with the leadership and cohesiveness this team has I just don't see that happening. The game plan last week, maybe conservative but penalties, blown coverages, and turnovers just kill you in that type of game. I'm putting my money on a all around good effort this week to give us momentum going into conference schedule. I agree with a lot of you, 1 loss is 1 loss, hell, how do you think the CU fans are feeling right now. I'd say we're in pretty good shape. GO HUSKERS, Husker Nation is always behind you.
  7. I think LA has the same problem with college football attendance almost all your metropolis cities have, the pro game gets all the hype, TV, radio thats all you hear. Here in the Philadelphia area we get zilch, not even one college football talk show and its because all the hype is Eagles. The college teams have never drawn here whether it be Hurricanes or the Virginia Tech, I would like to bet the only way the Link would be sold out for a college game was if Nebraska played here. I've been to 3 of the Nebraska kick off classics in the Meadowlands and each one had anywhwere from 20-30k in attendance. Every game I've been to away from Lincoln the opposition is always amazed by our following. As a Big Red fan I take pride in the fact that Nebraska football is lived and breathed by the whole state from generation to generation, our fans love to travel to show their support and lastly that our fans are not just football knowledgeable but they respect their opposition and are curtious in the fans unlike some of the fans I've seen at Penn State or Colorado. When I see the players say "I Play for Nebraska" I know its not just a statement, its the same feeling we fans have when we say We're Nebraskans and damn proud of it. As I talk to people on the east coast about Nebraska football it always ends with " If your not from there you wouldn't understand it and if your from there you can't explain it". All you can say is take a drive some college football weekend and go to Lincoln, experience it, take it in, you'll never see anything like it anywhere. God Bless the Huskers and look out Trojans the Husker Fanstorm is a comin whether they like it or not. GO HUSKERS
  8. We have a Husker Booster club in the Philadelphia area. We get any where from 30-60 people to watch all the games at Bergeys Pub in Conshohoken, Pa.
  9. How about those HUSKERS, it was great seeing them make plays when they need to, what a catch by Petersen in the back of the end zone. Zac did a good job of getting rid of the football a couple of times, but still has to stay away from the interceptions. As we go up against the rest of the Big 12, this Red Zone turnover problem has to be resolved. Loosing the ball inside the 10 yard line can just kill your momentum. Could someone please explain to me the simultaneous recovery rule, never heard that one before. I think the refs were just covering the ass because they didn't really know who recovered the ball even though the replay clearly shows a Husker on it first. Overall this team is starting to really play together and they seem to be having fun, and those two things is what makes winning football teams. Kudo's to all the fans who went down to the game, that kind of spirit is what makes recruits pick Nebraska. We were watching the game at a alumni gamewatch outside of Philadelphia and there were about 20 PSU watching their game and there was about 50 Husker fans all decked out in Red waiting to watch our game. That kind of spirit is unmatched and I'm sure that was the case at dozens of establishments around the country. Go Huskers, lets get Mizzou!
  10. I really don't understand the thinking of any of the pollsters. We loose a game in which we gave away to TT and in the polls this week we went from receiving 70-80 pts to 3 points. Do these guys even watch the games. This team just is not getting any respect and maybe thats because the expectations were low going in but I see a team that is learning the system faster than I thought. I think if some of the ESPN guys would actually watch the game they'd find that this team is much faster and smarter(football smart) than last years. If the offensive line can get a little stronger this will be quite a team to watch in the future.
  11. Thanks for the welcome, I joined Husker Nation about 2 months ago and now a day doesn't go by that I don't read it. Being a transplanted Husker on the east coast it makes me feel like I'm back home. Go Huskers
  12. I've been a Husker fan all my life, growing up in southeast Nebraska, now residing in Pa. Over the years I do feel we Husker fans have become so damn spoiled we don't know how to take losing seasons. Myself, I think BC is doing a decent job. Everyother university that has tried this west coast offense has went through a couple of tough years getting their personnel in place. Oh, I'll be the first to tell you that I really miss that smashmouth option style football but that is what I was used to for 40 years. I agree that our defense looks good and I'll give them time to get better and the next couple of years should be a good time for all Husker fans. As for the offense, the west coast playbook takes a lot of repitition to learn, not only for the QB but for all of the offense, its so diversified, hell it takes pro QB's a couple years to adjust to, the number of audibles alone from each play is staggering, so lets give all these young players a chance. I am a proud Husker fan and as a member of the Pennsylvania for Huskers Booster Club I envy all of you out there because you get to witness college football every Saturday like no other place in the world. I turned on the WF game last week and just seeing that red stadium put chills up my spine, it always does and always will. At ease everyone for a second, take a step back and appreciate NU football for what it is and has been for years, the best damn college football environment in the land. GO HUSKERS
