  1. You do? Your name is huskerindallas. Just thought I'd point that out. I created this account when I lived in Dallas 4+ years ago.
  2. I work on the news desk at the OU student newspaper and have ran into this writer who is also the sports editor once or twice. He is actually a Nebraska fan, oddly enough. So don't get ahead of yourselves and think all Sooner fans agree with this guy.
  3. I am a die hard Nebraska fan but go to the University of Oklahoma. I'm in my 4th year here and am on campus daily. The feel I get from my peers is that OU is definitely going to win, and plenty of my friends have already bought their tickets to the bowl game and are readily expecting it to be the Fiesta Bowl. So I definitely have to second the opinion Oklahoma fans around the Norman area think they are going to smoke NU. Personally, I am feeling very uneasy about the game. I will be sitting with my Nebraska stuff on in the OU student section, and that alone should be interesting! Green starting + Big 12 refs giving us a goodbye present seems to be a recipe for disaster. Is there any hope?
  4. Pretty sure Pelini was quoted in the media as having said they'd been preparing for this game for 10 months (in response to a question about the 'Horns having a bye week and having 2 weeks to prepare). Wrong. If anything Pelini has said the complete opposite. His message has always been you prepare for this game just like any other. It was Tim Beck, our running backs coach who jokingly said that... Agreed. This is what I meant.
  5. The players crapped their pants, pure and simple. It must have been difficult for Wats to draw up plays knowing his receivers would not be able to catch anything. Texas's defense showed how superior it was to our offense early on in the game, and the O couldn't recover. Nebraska's offense needs a new wrinkle, and I don't think the zone read is the right choice for the team from an all-encompassing standpoint. They need to be able to spread people out, run bubble screens and get playmakers in positions in the open field to make plays. I live in Norman and have been to numerous OU games, and see how effective they are at spreading the field and getting the playmakers the ball in space. This is the wrinkle the NU offense needs to expand if it wants to be successful.
  6. I felt like the biggest mistake today was the preparation. We went into the game, treating it just like "another game", and Texas realized this game was THE game for their season to have any hope the rest of the way. Coaches should be disappointed, the first mistake in all of this was not realizing how much this meant to OUR season and this program. I am ashamed to be a Nebraska fan, as it looked as if we were playing to lose, and the Zac Lee change in the 3rd quarter showed how little confidence the coaches have in any decision they've made so far. Congrats to the defense, because it was not their fault we lose today. Giving Texas possessions in NU territory was the reason we lose this game. You cannot blame the NU defense for giving up 20 points when Texas had field position all day like they did. Big letdown, and I don't even know what to think from here on out. If Missouri psyches themselves up enough for the game, Missouri will win. Nebraska cannot treat big games like "just another game" anymore. Certain games are must wins.
  7. My cousin is C.J Zimmerer. He redshirted this past season and I hope to see him hit the field sometime in the next 4 years! He is a freak of an athlete. Haven't seen him in awhile, though.
  8. This isn't really relative but I was walking to class this morning(U of Oklahoma student) right next to the OU stadium and there was a bunch of the football players coming out of a morning film session or something. I couldnt' resist being the huge fan and native Nebraskan I am to talk up Cody Green a bit. I didn't know his name but he looked like a defensive back. Told him Green was going to do some damage this week, all in good fun ofcourse. I am EXCITED! GBR
  9. Okay, so i just recently watched the first episode of this season's Hard Knocks on HBO. There is a segment about 15 minutes in where they go through the Oklahoma drill. Maurice Purify is lined up to block former Oklahoma safety Roy Williams and completely obliterates him 10 feet back and pile drives him on the ground. It was pretty damn amazing. Here is a link to the video of it if you would all like to watch. Makes me think Mo had a little OU NU rivalry on his mind when this all went down. http://www.cincyjungle.com/2009/8/13/98797...solutely-buries
  10. I am a student at OU, and will be attending the game bearing my Nebraska colors in the student section. Should be interesting. Hope we put up a fight. Go Huskers!
  11. This is my little cousin, and I can tell you first hand, growing up with him he was always a monster. He will be a good fit at Nebraska.
