Let’s take a step back and compare what we lost and where they ended up. Very telling how respected and good a coach is by his next stop. Lubick: not coaching anywhere, maybe back to a credit union? Mario Verduzco: Not coaching anywhere, most likely retiring. Greg Austin: OL coach at Florida International. Ryan Held: Offensive Coordinator at North Alabama. That’s indicative at how bad this staff really was. IMO every new coach is a big upgrade, with Raiola being the biggest question mark. Like to see how other than Raiola everyone else was replaced with proven and experienced coaches.

I know it’s common with transfers to show in the directory, but I like this!

Applewhite’s resume looks decent to me. Wyoming from 03-08: Coached 2 of the 3 all-time leading rushers in school history. UL-Monroe 10-14: Coached 2 all conference RBs. Colorado St. 15-19: Was part of 2 of the top 5 all-time school scoring marks. Coached a second team all conference running back. TCU 20-21: Coached 2 freshmen running backs that averaged over 7 yards a carry. He’s proven he can develop at every stop he’s been at. That’s something we desperately need.

I’m guessing frost likes his experience and track record of developing his RBs.

Never understood the love for Held. He was a decent recruiter and a horrible coach. His rotation made zero sense and didn’t develop s#!t. Applewhite has shown way more than Held in his coaching career.

Does Chubba even have a committable offer at Oklahoma right now? With Dart coming in for a visit he has to be at the top of their list.

Wonder if who ever the RB coach ends up being will also have Running game Coordinator attached to their title. Could help with offering more money if need be.

Purdy does at least have some pedigree. He was the number 7 dual threat QB for his class on 247. Smothers was number 14 in the same class.
