  1. It was bad right from the beginning when the teams were coming on the field. I was about to go back to sleep when no one said a word for a couple minutes.
  2. Dude, it wasn't a safety. I was sitting on the third deck right at the goaline and he just barely got across to the 1-ft line. I agree with your bottom line and that's about it.
  3. I would suggest some of the many hotels off of I-435 and Metcalf Ave. (US 169) in Overland Park on the Kansas side. It's about a 20 minute straight shot to the stadium. There are a ton of hotels off of that exit.
  4. For those of you who want to look for hotel rooms, try these which are closest to the stadium: Clarion Holiday Inn Drury Inn & Suites All are off of the Blue Ridge Cutoff exit off I-70.
  5. I agree with cmb. A lot of people on here do get jealous about how the media treats us. It's like we just wait for Lou Holtz or Mark May or whoever else to say something about Nebraska and then we completely attack them and ESPN to absolutely no avail. All we do is post a bunch of messages bitching and moaning that gets you no where. Until Nebraska legitamately does something, like win the Big 12 championship, you shouldn't get all worked up when a couple of talking heads who don't follow the program nearly as much as you do decide to say that Nebraska will lose their next game. I will call out ARMISTEAD for being an absolute fool on other team's boards. Yeah I like to check out other boards to see what the chatter is about Nebraska and this and that. But when I see Armistead in there just blasting the other team and saying that Nebraska will destroy them and blah blah blah, it just rubs me the wrong way to witness this kind of arrogance within in our fanbase.
  6. The hotel might be the Clarion, located across I-70 from the stadiums. A watch party will probably take place at Callahans in Lenexa, Minskys in Lenexa, and the 810 Zone in Overland Park.
  7. Texas only has 7 sacks this year? Does that seem a little low to anybody?
  8. His hype is getting old. It's amazing what a couple great plays in the first quarter of your first Husker game against a 1-AA team can do for you and your status with fans. I will say it now, maybe regrettably, but I don't think he will ever live up to the hype.
  9. I stayed up to watch the entire 1-hour Gameday Final last night and there was nothing on Nebraska. I think they showed every team in the top 25 except us, Oregon (west coast game, prolly still playing), Boise State (plays tonight), and that's about it. Not to be defensive really, but there is definately a love affair with the SEC. Granted they have some pretty good teams and could probably have Gameday at a conference game every week, but good lord. I don't need to see the Florida-Auburn highlights three damn times in a 1-hour show. They could have just showed the 3 touchdowns we scored and gone on to the next game. Not sure if anybody knew this but we didn't even get on last weekend's Gameday Final when our game was an ABC regional coverage night game. What a crock
  10. Ok I was at the game last year and we sacked Meyer 6 times. He had 14 rushes for a net of -23 yards and we have the same personnel this year. Why not run the same gameplan? We must get there on blitzes, I mean be absolutely relentless!
  11. Yeah, that's what I offered for the SC game. I think Elmo doesn't like to get away from their "approach". I guess that approach means to play off the WRs and let them run free.
  12. On that play you would need an overhead view or a view straight along the goaline to determine if the ball crossed the plain first. If it did, the fumble is a moot point. Officials made the right call to just call him at the 1 because there was not irrefutable evidence.
  13. I don't know that we'll get many "shots" at Freeman. Didn't get very much pressure on the QB this weekend and it was KANSAS! It appears that if anybody has a decent power running game they can keep us honest to set up the pass Kansas had an experienced line, I will give them credit. However, K-State's line is terrible and we should be able to expose it. There should be no excuses in that game!
  14. What would be wrong with using the same gameplan as last year? They brought all kinds of blitzes on Meyer last year and harrassed him. We have the same personnel this year. And the secondary? We started Grixby and Green at corners that game, Bullocks was legit, but is Shanle really any different from Tiedtke? Bring the pain on the Clones!
  15. Carriker...1 sack? 1 sack for our combined starting three LBs? Maybe it was the gameplan against KU to defend the shovel pass, I don't know. Maybe there are more sacks to come. If you think about it, LaTech game was very vanilla on D, Nichols ran the ball every play, USC is USC, Troy we got some sacks against undersized linemen, and KU had a lot of experience up front. I really think our LB depth is hurting us right now with Octavien and Dillard out. We basically have 4 guys with the starters are Brandenburgh in there. I don't know but some of these guys better start picking it up by next week because if you give Meyer time to pass I think we all know who he will find. Overall, we need better play out of our D or this season could end up being a disapointment.
  16. I'm in OP, but don't have the channel #. However, it's possible they may play the game at the 810 Zone. I can find out today.
  17. I just can't believe we gave their WRs a cushion all night long and never made the adjustments. That really blows my mind.
  18. Playing bump-and-run would of prevented some of the big plays made by SC's receivers and would have allowed the front 7 to have more time to get to Booty. Octavian is obviously not 100%, never heard his name all night. WHY DIDN'T WE PASS MORE ON THEM? TWO FRESHMEN AT SAFETY? WTF?????!!!
  19. Yeah I heard Lou Holtz say earlier that "I think this is the best Michigan team since their national championship year", and "Nebraska doesn't have a running game and it won't get on track against SC". ????
  20. Joe Dailey loses starting spot at North Carolina CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina will start redshirt freshman Cam Sexton over Joe Dailey at quarterback against Furman, coach John Bunting said today. Bunting said he was making a change to spark an offense that has committed eight turnovers in losses to Rutgers and Virginia Tech. Dailey, who transferred from the University of Nebraska after starting at QB in the 2004-05 season, started North Carolina's first two games, but threw a key interception to end a drive late in the opening loss to Rutgers and threw two more picks against the Hokies. Sexton came on in relief of Dailey in the second quarter of that 35-10 loss, going 9 for 21 for 120 yards with two interceptions. Bunting said the Tar Heels (0-2) will play both quarterbacks against the Division I-AA Paladins on Saturday, and that he hopes both will cut down on the turnovers that have hindered the team.
  21. It has to be NU-USC because Kirk Herbstreit is on Gameday and also a color commentator for the Saturday night game which is.......NU-USC!
  22. I like to track this stuff, so here you go: Starters/ccnsiderable playing time (12) Bowman Congdon Cryer Dagundaro Glenn Hardy Lucky Octavien Slauson Suh Taylor Turner Definite future contributors (5) Covey Dillard Potter Roark Tomerlin Uncertain future contributors (6) Brooks Harvey Hickman J. Picou Wilson Spain (deos he go back to WR next year?) Gone from team (7) Beck Jackson Moore Pasteur R. Picou Rands (Track) Souder JUCO (2) Franklin Hunter It's tough to say what will happen with Brooks and Spain. Brooks hasn't emerged yet and Spain has this year as a CB and next year......? Other than that, I look forward to seeing what happens with our guys in the coming years.
