  1. It's kind of like touting the titles you won 14+ years ago after you get your ass kicked on the field in 2011
  2. Wow, lol. And people wonder why Wisconsin fans get a bad rap See the thing is, we don't get a bad rap. In fact, we get effusive praise by pretty much everybody save for a few opposing fan bases. Some are based on geographic rivalry (Minnesota), others based on competition (Iowa and Ohio State), and one because they are just grumpy all the time and have an affinity for billboards (MSU). Otherwise we are universally praised by sportswriters and analysts for being an enthusiastic fan base that fosters an electric atmosphere in one of the greatest college towns. And similar to Nebraska, but not of the same level, travels well to support our university. Also, I don't know what's so bad about that particular post because it is largely based on fact. I acknowledge Wisconsin didnt't have a winning history through the 60's 70's and large part of the 80s, but we have been successful for the majority of the last two decades. ˜Osborne also on the wrong side of a large national debate about the price of winning when he chose to start Lawrence Phillips after he beat his girlfriend. I've said far more vitriolic things.
  3. ah so you're right back to drinking the kool aide just like that huh? You let a freshman QB score 27 points on you at home. You won't be playing in Indy.
  4. That's fine if you want to cheer the opposing team out the door. If you think being called an a-hole, that could not be more blatantly tongue-in-cheek, is deplorable, then please for you're sake, do not ever leave Lincoln. Also, I'm not terribly certain badger_hb attended Wisconsin, as the ES-FU chant has been going on for decades in the student section, and while frowned upon by some people, it has been passed out for generations. To say, hey I swore in college, but now I'm older and wiser so damn those students to hell, is beyond hypocritical. Besides, those students are the ones who are standing and cheering all game long and give CRS the good reputation that it has today, while people like badger_hb are telling people to sit down in between wagging their finger at kids.
  5. Funny, my buddies that went up to Madison with me said the exact same thing with the exact logic behind it. He is not at all wrong. Wisconsin fans, sorry, but learn to win. I have no problem shaking the hands of the people that beat us and I did when I was in Madison, but some of the ways that I was treated were garbage. That's a pretty high horse you've got there. Sure UW has gone through some bad years but they've consistently won for the better part of 2 decades. We have even been to more BCS bowls (3-2) and won more (2-1). I also recall a certain moment in time when Tom Osbourne decided when winning was so important he decided to start a woman beater against universal disapproval and any sort of moral compass. So maybe he shouldn't be the authority on correlating winning culture and character. Who is Tom Osbourne? And how many national titles ya got? Let us know when you get to five. hahahahahahah yeah sure Wisconsin hasn't won one that's fine. If you have to live in the past then that's great. You'll just be in the company of Minnesota fans who cling to the 6 national championships of yesteryear. But come on buddy you're in the Big Ten now, we've heard it all before. Michigan is the winningest football program, does that mean the Big House isn't quiet or that they haven't sucked the last 3 years?
  6. I like turtles. I could care less about what Tom Osbourne has to say about Wisconsin students or how "revolting" people think the ES-FU chant is. The 15,000 students at Camp Randall make it what it is. A fantastic home-field environment. But don't take my word for it, just look to your local husker beat reporters who came away very impressed by the atmosphere. Or this board, where people urged others to stand up and cheer to be like Wisconsin fans at Camp Randall. You take the good with the bad, and as far as the Camp Randall crowd goes, the good is oh so very good. No you don't have to "take the good with the bad." You don't have to be an abusive, violent idiot to cheer for your team. Your inability to acknowledge, or perhaps understand this, makes you a truly contemptuous human being. My god, you're actually proud of the extreme behavior, aren't you? Screaming obscenities at children and elderly people. I hope you're a rare minority. Otherwise, there's something dark and sick happening in Wisconsin. Extreme behavior? You're naive to think that a.) this only happens in Wisconsin and b.) that some people don't do this at Nebraska. And maybe when you looked up contemptuous in the dictionary you should have swung by V and looked up violent as well. I don't know that a few people yelling at Tom Osbourne and elderly people he was with is tantamount to say, an angry mob in 1950s Arkansas.

  9. yes but at least we don't do that to ourselves on the field. like say when you're ranked 8th and playing on a national stage, and then get embarrassed with a 31 point loss and the opposing quarterback that guts your secondary, doesn't even attempt a pass in the 4th quarter.
  10. I very seriously doubt that. I watched the Bama/PSU game and as soon as Bama got a two TD lead they were in the lazy cruise mode. Saban showed good class by not stomping JoPa but it wasn't at all like the game was in question whatsoever with zero PSU offense. I don't think "anybody" is going to crush our offense in the remaining Big10 games this year. If the offense continues to improve Wisconsin won't either if we meet them in the ccg. Beck won't make the same mistake twice. GBR!! True the NU offense could be harder to contain as the season rolls on (the biggest test will come against Sparty's legit defense), but your defense still has to stop people which it has yet to do. Ohio State just rolled up 27 with a freshman QB. They only managed to score 7 against MSU and 6 against Miami. I just don't see Wisconsin losing to Nebraska this year after scoring 41 through 3 quarters. If UW loses this year it'll be to MSU or OSU.
  11. woooo whatta win. everyone but the state of ohio was a husker tonight. OSU more like 0 and 2. gawddddamn that feels good. great win boys, keep it clean from here on out, and we'll see you all in Indy. Oh and god have mercy on Joe Bauserman's soul.
  12. Yeah but this is a bit flawed because it does not indicate the correlation between the academic standards of the institution and subsequent number of academic all americans. To become an academic all-american you merely must achieve a GPA beyond an arbitrary threshold. So say the threshold is a 3.0, it would then be much easier to obtain a 3.0 at NU than it would to obtain a 3.0 at UW. This is why, not until recently, Stanford has had some terrible years as a football program because they had to recruit players who could perform up to standard in both academics and athletics. The same could be said for Northwestern and why they have not been able to sign top tier talent. I'm not trying to diminish the achievements of Nebraska's all-americans, it's a great achievement, I'm just trying to illuminate that having a cache of academic all-americans does not necessarily reflect the level of intellect of the university as a whole.
  13. nah they're calling the ut-ou game during the day right after gameday.
  14. here's something else NU beats UW at, having more good cholesterol. not exactly.... http://www.webmd.com...ls-in-28-states i didn't say anything about obesity. sorry I just thought since obesity level and cholesterol level have such a strong correlation. but if u were saying Nebraska has more good cholesterol, the same way eggs have good cholesterol then... congratulations?
