  1. They're both old now, Hunter...they don't even bother to sh*t in the box anymore.
  2. I found that lowered expectations really help my attitude with the program these days...and also helped my blood pressure during games. I was unfairly holding these coaches and this team to unrealistic high standards..you know..like winning the Big XII in the past few years, or playing for the Big Ten championship, or maybe making a BCS bowl game, or beating Northwest. That's just not fair to the team or the players. And when I changed my attitude no longer did the consistent mind numbing lack of discipline penalties at critical times, or lousy QB passing technique, or poor O-line play, or predictable play calling, or dropped passes, or the non-existent significant improvement for returning starters in key positions, or Bo's way over the top screaming tirades on the sideline make me scream at the tv and cuss and throw things at my cat...okay..well sometimes I still threw things at the cat..but, anyway, you get my point. I'd watch these things go on and think "oh heck! well, better luck next time". I am drinking more now, but that's another issue.
  3. Yes...it is important. I also want world peace. and good luck in the swimsuit competition!
  4. Oh I agree he wasn't, Rocketsocks. I was speaking on behalf of thousands of PSU and college football fans that saw him as one. Hell..there are still those out there now that would defend him as a saint and crucify anyone saying otherwise. I was trying to make a point with him and the topic at hand. the trick with my posts is not to read everything in them too literally.
  5. Comish..thank you for stand up mature response back, even if we happen to not agree on Brown and his religious beliefs. Unfortunately, it's the two responses after yours that give what I said validity. For the record having strong religious beliefs..Christian, Jewish, Muslim, or otherwise.. does not necessarily make you a better coach or a better person. I have known really decent caring "good" religious people in my life, and I have known many atheists and agnostics with more Christ like values than many self proclaimed Christians. Last week Joe Pa was a saint. An upstanding coach is an upstanding coach. His/her religious beliefs are a side issue.
  6. Anything even slightly clever on a Husker forum board goes over too many fans heads, Comish...so I try to avoid being too witty. It was merely an attempt to point out the bloody obvious...that the school that decided not to hire coach Brown (justified or not) has been more relevant on the national scene that we have been since that time. I hope that wasn't too clever.
  7. yes, thank goodness Stanford didn't hire him...because they have totally sucked since then and we have been... wait... never mind.
  8. I'm sure it's why we won the game. We have Coach Brown...so God was on our side
  9. On one level the answer to this has been addressed by several others here...winning a division title, or playing in a national championship game, or beating a top 5 team..and not acting shocked about it.. but on a deeper level, and possibly after 3 beers, this sounds like one of those eastern existential philosophical questions to me....like if a tree falls on a Longhorn player does anyone care?
  10. Tebow made me feel better about my decision to become an agnostic. Bless him
  11. There are some lenient mods around here it seems...I have never had any issues....and when I had something deleted or was warned about something...it was apart of the rules and it was a very objective ruling. I had no problems with any actions that were taken. This place is pretty chill. I am getting a sense of that already here, chaddyboxer. *And I was joking about the whole nude thing. I had my boxers on
  12. The game would have been over, even with David's ball stripping (why did it feel uncomfortable writing that?)...anyway...it was OSU's qb going down that saved that game. He remains healthy and we don't come back.
  13. I can already tell I like this place better. At HP I always felt like I had to keep my defenses up every time I posted anything. But here I already feel like I can just relax and be myself and say whatever comes to mind... I'm typing this naked right now.
  14. Happy to see some of the faces over here from HP. I didn't have enough interaction with Max to form a strong opinion either way about him really. I tend to side with Calla, but only because she used a Gustav Klimt painting in her avatar, so that may not hold up as a great reason in court. It was the fanatical following of his that really turned me off. Some of them were scary. I'm through with anything HP and Max connected. I'm over here now to catch up on all things Husker related...plus I'm sure Austin needs me here for moral support...even though he'll deny it. I've concluded I really like the Huskers, it's some of their fans I'm having a hard time dealing with.
