I agree with you one. So what if Taylor made a bad read or two, everyone does. He is a sophomore, that is a mistake even seniors make. I can't wait to see what Taylor accomplishes in his career, I think he is going to do great things. I'm wondering too that when he makes mistakes on the option it's simply because he continues to learn how to run the option. Coming from California, aren't their high schools playing more of a spread offense? The option takes time to learn. Our boys know it because they play it in high school. Question: In practice during the season are the coaches still judging the players? I'm assuming that they do. Perhaps Brion isn't showing them what they want to see or is not consistent in what they want to see? That's purely speculation on my part but I get the feeling that the young kids are not playing because they're simply not there yet. However, I think it's a shame that we haven't played well enough this season to give them the chance. I have heard that Brion is having a tough time grasping the offense. Don't know if that is the truth, but that is what I heard.

Would you call Landry Jones from OU a championship QB? Most would I think we can agree. Wasn't too long ago he was throwing 5 ints vs Nebraska and struggling for stretches of the season, look at him now.

I can agree with you here lo country. He seemed to be one of the few out there that really wanted it. He ran different saturday than usual, sometimes he runs like he did saturday when he is at goal line but he did it the whole time saturday.

it was total team loss. 2 big turnovers heading to score is not on the D. even though Taylor played well, he is still on the ball too much on zone reads. the D go a bunchnof turnovers. 2 pics, 1 fumble recovery on a NW pitch. The O couldn't convert those into points. It was in no way Taylor's fault that they didn't convert the turnovers into points. That is pretty obvious.

Do you think it is getting better? I think from the shotgun and pistol it is getting significantly better, from under center we still struggle. The last couple weeks I have noticed TMart actually making defenders commit on the option. Although almost never from under center have I seen it, only from Pistol and Shotgun (ex. 3 and long play vs. Mich state). I think he is still getting use to the under center version, the 2 point conversion vs. NW where he kept it he ran very well and that play was from under center. (I am in no way bashing Taylor, I am one of his biggest supporters out there...)

The QB that played against NW is capable of winning a championship. I disagree. Taylor Martinez is one of the dumbest people I have ever seen in my life. He does not have the smarts to play qb at a high level, at least not proficiently. Taylor Martinez is also extremely selfish and cocky. He thinks he is so much better than everyone else when he really isn't. This translates into his ability to change and get better. Case in point, his throwing motion. Anybody with half a brain would realize that they need to change how they throw the ball, at the very least, work on their footwork. He has shown that he doesn't care if his motion is bad. The amount of selfishness he displays is beyond comprehension. The best example came against Northwestern this weekend. On one play Martinez had a run of roughly 15 yards. The very next play was a zone read play. There was a hole big enough to drive a car through and Rex would have ran for days. Instead of handing it off like he should have, Martinez pulls the ball and the play results in roughly a 5 yard loss. I believe we ended up punting on the drive. I don't get what people see in Martinez. He had a good game throwing the ball. 1 good game. The problem with Martinez is that he CAN NOT be consistent in the passing game, EVERYONE KNOWS THIS. On the running game he makes terrible reads all the time or is just selfish and keeps the ball. He also can't make anyone miss if his life depended on it. He is a straight line runner. Martinez might have a good passing game every now and then or break a big run every now and then but he can't be consistent enough to lead us to a Championship. I find it hard to believe that our results would be much different if we played ANY other qb on our roster. From now on I will never acknowledge a post from you. Arrogance at its finest...

Great post HuskerinSanDiego...some people do not realize that this isn't the 1990's. Nebraska is not a national power....yet. But I do think Bo has us on our way. Just give it time.
