  1. Crap, you're right. Nebraska isn't a tourist destination. Gonna have to scrap those Carhenge vacation plans I made. How could I have forgotten. Thanks for the reminder bourne.
  2. That sucks. How can we be that awful? That's a .000% winning percentage! We didn't execute.
  3. You'll find this out when you have kids. Bo's not throwing the team under the bus-he's just telling the truth. You can coach a kid til you're blue in the face but if they don't do what you've coached them to do then what can you do? When you tell your kid, 'Don't touch that hot stove, it will burn you!' and they turn around and touch it, what can you do? So how is it Bo's responsibility to get them to play like he coaches them? He can't go out on the field and hold their hand! My point is this: At some point, these kids are going to have to be accountable for what they are taught in practice. They are going to have to be responsible for their mistakes. No one says anything when these kids do what they were coached to do. Everything is fine then. But when they don't execute it's all the coach's fault. I'm sorry, I don't buy that. Do we have problems? Yep. But can we really blame all of this on the coach? lol, That post is amazing on so many levels. I can see that coaching technique you speak of. Coach:"Hey kid, don't let that WR score a TD." WR streaks past DB and scores. Coach: "Dammit, you didn't listen. I CLEARLY told you to not let him score and you ignored me and he scored a TD." Coach in post game presser: "Lack of execution, we need more talent." We clearly have coaching problems. Every season is basically the same thing. All players are different, yet we still see the same trends. That is on coaching, plain and simple. Look at our offense for example. The past 3 seasons it has started off very well and has, over the course of the season, eroded to pretty much pathetic by seasons end. Mistakes, penalties, poor execution, whatever the excuse, it's always the same.
  4. I agree, but that isnt crap you spew to the media. I think it should be kept within the team, but just my opinion. Exactly. Marvin made converted RB and 3 star players into first round draft picks. I think Raymond has more raw talent to work with, just cant develope it like Marvin could. Yep. Just see Evans under Sanders and Evans under Raymond. He looked like an up and coming stud when he filled in last season due to injury, this year was rough. Same with Osborne, looked good last season, bad this season.
  5. That's a pretty bad way to call out the players on the team. Even if out-matched, how do the players have any respect for that coach anymore? That's pretty low rent imo. Another example of our coaching staff being in over there ski's, so to speak. Earlier in the season, Raymond told the press that he had forgotten to sub players in and out of the game because he was so caught up in the game. Maybe our players don't match up with SC's player well enough for him, but I don't think he matches up to opposing teams coaches well enough for our players.
  6. Unsportsmanlike Conduct has made several references to some comments made by Corey Raymond after the game. Does anyone have a link to what he said?
  7. I cut him in my fantasy league...THAT is embarassing.
  8. That pretty much sums it up.
  9. NU was already unstoppable without Crouch. Also, the claim that Frazier was clutch comes from HIM (not others) making plays when it mattered most. It was Frazier who converted the two-point conversion to tie it up against Miami in the same endzone where Turner Gill misfired. It was Frazier who converted two third downs on the winning drive against a Miami defense that included Warren Sapp and Ray Lewis, a defense that was better than the one Crouch faced in the Rose Bowl. It was Frazier who as a sophomore led Nebraska to the national title game, and made a clutch throw in the closing seconds of the game to give Nebraska a chance to win. Frazier was 3-time national championship game MVP. Never been done before...won't be done again. Frost>Crouch
  10. Exactly. Also, Beck being a wr/passing game coordinator at Kansas has me feeling like this offense really wants to be able to pass the ball more often and more effectively. We tried many times to force the passing game down Martinez's throat, Wisconsin would be a game that really stands out. Taylor did improve throughout the season, and I think the direction of this offense will progress to a far more balanced system as the QB progresses. Just my opinion but I think we may move away from the option game as we develop a more balanced Quarterback. That is true. The problem is that we recruit athletes and convert them to QB. TMart, Carnes, Bubba, Armstrong... We seem to have a pass minded OC that is trying to run, according his own words, a "mutt" offense featuring a lot of running, option, ZR, and drop back passing. Find one system and recruit to that. NE doesn't feature Brady's option game and Denver doesn't feature Tebow's pocket passing.
  11. Multiple ways of setting up a punt...
  12. Don't be so hard on yourself. Yep, keep your chins up.
  13. Berringer handing to Jay Sims. Gotta love it. Our backup QB handing the ball to what? our 5th string IB in the national championship game. Epic beatdown.
  14. Excellent point. We got to see how the defense was without Dennard, but didn't see the D without David to compare. No slight to Dennard, but I think it would have been worse without David. As an example, imagine what Michigan would have down to us without David's 13 first half tackles.
  15. I think we are totally doing that though. We are constantly putting him in position to do things that he is "not". Not only that, but we do a huge variety of things, that don't really fit him, imo. I agree that he is not an option QB, but I think he could be if we committed to it. He needs to learn to take a hit and many other things, but he is in that same situation with most typical QB skills. I'd rather see the coaches focus on his option game and put more pressure on our running game than focus on his option / drop back / zone read / read progression / blitz recognition ...etc.
  16. I'd say we ran anything but plenty of option. We either ran way too much or not nearly enough. The option, imo, is not a sprinkle it in type of deal. You either do it, practice it, refine it, and perfect it, or you don't waste your time with it. Spacing, timing, blocking angles, reading defenses, and adjusting mid-play is absolutely vital to a successful option attack. I'd love to see us run a lot more option, while scrapping a lot of all the other stuff in are arsenal. We pack far too many tools to be highly efficient and effective on offense. If we boiled our offense down to a few core things then branched out from there, I think our offense could be lethal with our talent.
  17. Thanks Zoogs, MUCH better. Admin should prob make that a lol easier....
  18. Tell that to the SEC.... Teams win national championships...tell me the last team to win back to back national championships. Back to back is extremely rare, you are changing the parameters though. You stated that championship seasons are extremely hard to come by in defense of OU's collapse. Championship seasons come around once per year and the SEC teams, as you pointed out, have won 6 in a row. SEC teams are not seeming to find it hard to come by. The question in my mind is why teams are not copying the SEC teams because championship seasons have been very hard to come by for non-SEC teams.
  19. I'm thinking the new leading candidate in that first thread is Badgerfan....
