@BigRedBuster, without getting into China's politics, public health, etc., I think every country will get to a point where we start lifting social restrictions. Yes, cases will go back up when you do so. But it is about no;t overwhelming the health care system. Banning restaurants and bars is only a mitigation technique to flatten the curve, not a permanent solution to starve the virus out to zero. Until we get a vaccine (12 months), I think it will be a balancing act of restrictions to make those ebbs and flows shallower.

Also, how can 90% trust Trump AND 84% trust the CDC at the same time!?! Half of every presser is Dr. Fauci walking back Trump's lies.

Speaking of UNMC, they put out an “URGENT NEED” for masks and gloves. Omaha Public Schools sent a district-wide request to all their nurses yesterday to retrieve every last one from their respective offices for immediate donation by 10:30 this morning. I went with my wife to her school to help her collect 4,500 gloves and 500 masks. Some longtime nurses reported as many as 50 boxes in their storage. This will help UNMC’s immediate need and hints to me that these schools won’t be reopening this semester. (Principal was only person at the school and said he would be asking students to return within the week to pack all their belongings/empty their lockers.)

No need to worry, Mark Meadows is on the job! Our Constitution also explicitly prohibits this. See Article I, Section 6.

I am critical of the Dems including any unrelated measures, like climate change, in this bill. I do think it needs to include voting procedures since experts have forecasted effects through November. Giving Mnuchin free reign over $500B is a nonstarter. And why would it include a 6-month disclosure exemption? F THAT NOISE.

I believe Trump talked about it during the press conference on the 19th (which prompted this questioning) and tweeted about it on the 21st.

I think he's just preparing to try shift the blame away from his own feet. Its his MO.

And he has no power to open them up when it is the localities mandating lockdown. For example, Doral is closed because of the county's order. He's used federalism as a shield so far to defend his inaction, now he's preparing to use it as a sword to blame the economy on others.
