  2. I think you're mistaken, but even if you're not, it's pretty common for this to be a recurring theme pretty much always and nonstop. I don't think it was during the off-season. It was after UCLA.
  3. I agree. If we get 20, we should be in.

    When Pelini introduces Paps:
  5. i never said bo would not change things and i really do not have a narrative. but forgive me for wondering why he would change here and now, or why he closed practices earlier. Not your argument. But an argument earlier in the thread. And when you responded, it was in the middle of discussing how Pelini might have responded to a question instead of the larger subject they were talking about.
  6. I know exactly why - they just like to have something to complain about. This is a perfect example. How many people have complained that Pelini has too much "us against the world" mentality and it hurts the team? And he's bad with the media? Now he makes a big adjustment that helps both and what happens? Do they say "This is a great - if long overdue - step. I glad Pelini finally did this."? Nope. Just move on and start complaining about the next thing.
  7. all the time, but usually not when it is an 180 degree change from previous behavior. So now you're downgrading Pelini for changing? no, for his attitude. look, i know this is going to come off as petty, but it is not. the way pelini most demonstrates he is in over his head as a head coach is through his attitude. he is furious at everyone after a big win, his is pugnacious after embarrassing loses willing to go nuclear, he releases apologies without sincerity, then he tries to be the laid back guy that does not need to give a reason for doing something that is probably good for the program, even though he staunchly opposed it before. who is he and how does he lead? maybe i am reading too much into this, but it just seems like the bo p.r. machine working in overdrive and hard to take it seriously. he is losing credibility, basically. i think it is great that he is opening up practices, i am just confused why he did not before and is doing it now. I know. The point was the first argument was "Pelini won't change things" and now is "why is that so different from what he's done." I'd be curious how it was delivered. It said he "shot" back but is that tone or speed? If it was a quick "why not?" with a shoulder shurg, that would have a lot different context that doesn't come across in the written word. But people will read into it whatever context they feel fits their narrative.
  8. I think some form of this is most of it. We had a staff full of guys who had more responsibility than they'd had before. Obviously that was Bo's choice but that's how it was. First time HC. Two different first time DCs. After Watson left, first time OC. Assistant coaches who had been GAs. I think it just took some time to get everything figured out. I don't know that they didn't put enough effort into recruiting, but that's possible. They also might not have been targeting the right guys, spending too much time on guys they were never going to get, saying yes to lesser prospects instead of holding out for higher ones, or whatever. And probably not making as many early contacts as they should have while adjusting to new coaching responsibilities. And probably just some good old fashioned bad luck. We had quite a few four star prospects not pan out. For whatever reason, the seemed to be good in high school but didn't work out.
  9. I think those five are pretty well locked in. I think the B1G will get one more team - Minny, Nebraska or possibly Indiana if they make a run. I don't think the B1G will get seven unless a couple of those teams make at least the conference semifinals.

  13. Sounds like he is going to Arizona if Kaleb Tarczewski opts to go to the NBA. They might be able to find a spot for him anyway but that would be the spot. He didn't seem to commit while he was there this weekend.
  14. Today's Bubble Tracker Not too much interesting today.
  15. Yahoo Article So apparently Auburn's former staff along with Baylor and Texas A&M have terrible QB coaches as well because their QBs had to get outside help. And probably Florida State, too. And it's not like their QBs were better than ours or anything like that.
  16. This is where I'm at as well. We've really only played one really good game on the road this year. We've played everyone tough at home. But Wiscy might be the toughest team we've played at home all year so it will be tough.

  19. The other reason that a win at Indiana would be nice is they have a chance to make a late run. Lunardi currently has six B1G teams in although Minnesota is the last one. I think the B1G gets six although someone has to grab that last spot. I don't think we get seven. If Indiana finishes the regular season beating tOSU, us and Michigan, they could have the same conference record as us and a better overall record and two wins over Top 25 teams late. They would be putting themselves in a spot to push for that last spot in the tourney as well.
  20. Indiana would still be a nice win, as they are a Top 100 team. As I said, I think beating Wisconsin with any other win would put us in. If we win these last two, losing to a poor team in the first round of the conference tourney would smart but I would think we'd still be in. But I was worried about having to play AT Indiana before they handled Ohio State yesterday. Now I'm sure it will take a great game to get out of Bloomington with a W.
  21. that is an odd response. why not? you tell us, as you have had them closed before. but frankly, i am just glad he was not too stubborn to change up the defense. took a lot of fortitude to change something that was absolutely not working. I figured someone would jump on that. You've never heard anyone else respond that way when asked about something?
  22. except the W and L columns never change. The W column has changed several times.
