Apparently when I was told in another post that Danny Manning wasn't leaving Kansas. He apparently wasn't leaving Kansas for Nebraska. On the other hand, If friggin Tulsa comes calling, he's gone! Who makes the NCAA TOURNAMENT first? Huskers under Miles or Doc with whatever team he ends up with next? My guess is Doc will be on the sidelines soon for a midmajor. At most he will sit a year IMO. So who makes the tourney first?

This guy will be successful here and be coaching somewhere bigger in 5 years!

I read in an earlier post that we had a couple guys still in the tourney that we would like to talk to. Obviously one was coach Groce. Does anyone know if Danny manning is the other one? Was he ever approached? If not what was the reason?

Have these guys ever heard of tempering expectations and quiet confidence! This has now become a make or break season IMO! Imagine if we catch a few bad breaks and finish 7-6 in a tough B1G.

You could stick this thread in recruiting 2012 and it was the same discussion. Too bad a lot of the big names we were in on last year turned us away by November. I'll get excited when we start getting verbals from these kids as opposed to just being in their top 3-5! Merry go round and round! De ja vu!

Alot of these picks make me laugh seeing how some of them may not be with these teams when fall camp opens...ie Tim Tebow(Peyton), both guys from Indy, Jared Allen(cap casualty), matt forte(contract)!

no one could be dumb for 4 years.....there is more to it than that.........got to be. When a guy switches positions a time or two, it makes a big difference. Sometimes the move just doesn't work out like it's planned. I had pretty high hopes for Mendoza as well, both at RB and at CB. IIRC he tried out WR for a little while as well. It's really too bad he didn't get put in a position to succeed because just looking at his numbers, it's obvious that he was one of the most athletic players on the team. His position swaps illustrate to me that he was a HELL OF AN ATHLETE just not a good football player. The coaches knew he was a freak, just could not find a position that he could play effectively. God knows they tried; instead of writing him off they wanted to find a way to let him play. I've met Marcus, he's a good natured kid (man now) I don't believe a lack of positive attitude or work ethic was an issue. I believe he just couldn't translate his athleticism to football skills. Must have been extremely gifted athletically if the staff thought he could play so many different positions! When you get moved you get stuck behind a bunch of guys already entrenched at that position. Guys who who knows the intracacies of the playbook and position. Tough to do IMO.

i have to agree, it looks like he is focused on one of those planes that flies by with a banner......you know, "Eat at Applebee's"......at least he doesn't have his head up his ass! In an unbelievable twist of irony.... Last weekend after the state girls basketball tourney, my son and nephew ran into Taylor at Applebees!! Forgive my interruption....please continue this inane conversation!!!
