  1. Just off the top of my head, that backwards pass was his worst decision of the day. He should have thrown it out of bounds because the running back wasn't going anywhere on that play with three defenders there. Other than that, Tommy had a really good day imo. That was a bad play design. Why the RB is running sideways so it has to be a backwards pass I have no clue. Yes, Tommy didn't make a good throw, but it was a bad play design and bad play call at that point in the game. Tommy said after the game he didn't take his drop as far back as he has been taught because he wanted to get the ball out there fast because "they weren't covering him". If he would have, it would have been a forward pass. It wasn't a bad play design, it was bad execution. However, he admitted it and played like a champion. All players make mistakes, not all players carry a team like he did today. That's what it looked like to me.....a simple swing pass that was poorly executed. Was it a good call? Could've been. He could've caught it and went around the end for a TD. Sometimes the defender steps in between and takes it the other way for 6 as well. I guess it's as good as the guys on the field who are running it. There are always a bunch of Woody Coulda Shoulda plays in close games like this one. Tommy made many more good ones than bad and looked a lot like Texas Longhorn QB Vince Young carrying the team on his back.
  2. For the entire game, we let their average QB get out of trouble by scrambling. That play we brought more guys and he didn't get away. It could've easily been the 'prevent' rush with our guys getting held like it was much of the game and he could've scrambled out again. They should call that guy Jimmy Scrambles. Our receivers were being held or hit before the ball got there as well until the refs finally started calling it. Oregon fans complaining about the refs should look at the film and ask themselves if their players are coached to be all over the receiver.
  3. Already said this 5 times in the game thread.
  4. I learned that Tommy Armstrong is a lot like Vince Young.
  5. ABC doesn't show the score......what's up with that?
  6. Yeah, not sure where this stuff came from?? Had em worn down and we give them a lifeline with that play calling. While TA is hurt or at least slowed.... Yeah, just plain dumb.
  7. That call was probably a routine swing pass to the back that Tommy rushed and threw backwards and way too early. Tommy needs to know when to eat the ball and run for the LOS.
  8. He's a trooper. That backwards pass was my fault....shouldn't have jinxed him.
  9. They're kinda embarrassed in the Neighborhood right now....what kind of defense was that?
  10. Our offense starts stepping up and our defense turns into a wet noodle. It's gonna be that kind of game.
  11. Ozigbo wants to play......different running team this half.
  12. They've been pushing our receivers the whole game....the refs are finally calling it.
  13. It was Bryan Reimers actually I thought he was a TE ,but he's 6'5 WR from Lincoln East
  14. And use that to get short passes to our speedy "greatest show on turf" style receivers.
  15. Does this fall on them? Does this fall on the Offensive line unable to win in the trenches? Does this fall on lack of run play calling? Both....they don't look great against a team that supposedly lesser teams ran all over and they really stunk against Wyoming. They don't seem to dominate blocking at any time and the runners don't seem to be able to break too many tackles.
  16. Tommy doesn't have the greatest vision or passing accuracy, but the guy is a warrior. Some of the other guys on offense need to step up and "make a play".
  17. I'm wondering if Newby and Ozigbo will lose there spots since they can't do much when it counts?
  18. This announcer talking about the redzone doesn't know about our tendency to screw up a wet dream.
