  1. If anyone wants to watch it, the Senior Ceremony is available on BTN2GO (Free as long as you have a BTN/cable/dish subscription). http://www.btn2go.com/game/purdue-at-nebraska-on-20160301 OR Nebraska Basketball ‏@HuskerHoops 15m15 minutes ago Pre-game ceremonies for the seniors will begin at 6:45 p.m. Watch the live stream on our Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/HuskerHoops/?fref=ts
  2. Almost anyway you map out the last game scenarios, it looks like it is going to come down to that last game at Northwestern for the 10 or 11 (First day play-in) seed. Purdue also looks pretty solid at the #6 (plays the 11/14 winner) in most scenarios.
  3. Here is the conference tournament win/loss generator to run through the scenarios as it gets closer. Odd to say, but the two games we have against Penn State are probably the most important to ensure we stay out of the bottom 4 play-in day. I think the two to avoid is Purdue and Michigan (I'd prefer to play Maryland over Michigan - they just always shoot well against us) http://bball.notnothing.net/big10.php?sport=mbb
  4. He finished up his visit with Arizona State this past weekend (where former assistant Neb. Bruno is now) and says he will probably take his two more allotted visits, with Gonzaga probably being one of them.
  5. Miami just beat 16th ranked Utah by over 20 at a netural site tournament. Good chance they are ranked by the time we play them. This would be a nice jolt. Maybe get PBA full (not that I blame fans with our home schedule). Hard to have a great home court advantage when it is only about 65% full.
  6. I agree with your player assessment, but I'd have McVeigh continue to come off the bench, to give us some scoring pop and energy off the bench. If your bench players are Webster, Parker, Hammond, Fuller (at least so far) there is no scoring punch to go to at all. McVeigh could still play more minutes than the starter.
  7. Not someone we try and re-recruit - we need a big with the one scholarship we have left. He was in contention for the spot that was Horne's commitment.
  8. Miles has said in a few different media interviews that in terms of true guards, B. Evelyn has been the best three point shooter if that continues, he probably is right behind Tai and takes Fuller's minutes. I like Fuller so even though I'd like to see him play more, I think his role is limited to spot minutes at best in favor of guard combos and he has been working with the 4's and 5's (actually is in the Big man groups in practice according to media) Most media members have been saying that Hammond won't play much still even though we desperately need his size so that will be interesting to see how that plays out.
  9. That is amazing!!!! BO BIG RED!!!!! Adding 2 more with our current class as well Robin Washut already had added Roby's 2016 commitment - so we'll add one more to this (Horne) so the total is 6.
  10. The easiest bet would probably use the Stubhub link - that is where most season ticket holders post. Even the front row looks like around $20 or so and cheaper options higher up. http://www.stubhub.com/nebraska-cornhuskers-womens-volleyball-tickets-ameritas-players-challenge-9-11-2015/event/9346225/ Have fun, glad to have you here!
  11. Tai has always played well internationally. Last summer, he was easily the first or second best guy on his international team and played quite well. His game is more suited to the less physical style, flowing style internationally. Hopefully, he can finally have that translate to the U.S. college game.
  12. As part of their contract, all former assistants get paid their salary this year so no rush for Kaz and Fisher to find work. Might as well find a good situation or enjoy the paid time off.
  13. It's a good start, but doesn't really mean anything if we don't land a few.
  14. There was one pitcher drafted in the 9th round that signed with the Diamondbacks. CC RHP Pierce Romero *The other drafted commits and Senior-to-be Howell all passed on the draft and will play for Nebraska. Pretty lucky this year all things considered.
  15. With Synder enrolled and Stoll committed, I think Nebraska would be better off to say thanks, but no thanks even if it did.
  16. Why? Why should you punish someone from growing themselves or a school from going after a guy. I get it is a bummer, but this is part of the game. Like it or not, we will probably try and do the same to someone. It is unprofessional for Burno to leave this fast, but that is on him. Plus you might have a team who has 9 schollies compared to a team who has 16-- competitive unbalance. I'm not saying a school or coach shouldn't want to grow themselves. I'm talking about coaches who make a committment, sign a contract then leave at the drop of a hat. I will backtrack on the loss of a schollie but I also think a coach should be required to finish at least a one year term. If the NCAA can require a penalty for an athlete for changing his mind after signing an LOI, lets hold coaches feet to the fire. Difference is a scholarship athlete isnt being hired as their job. If i take a new job, i have every right to leave if another one comes back up.... but as someone who is in the staffing world, it is so highly unprofessional and unfair to a company to not give them chance. I dont care what Rashon says, what he did was highly unprofessional. Karma will come back down on him but i still dont think that gives an employer the right to block him from going elsewhere. It is bull crap what he did, but if a company can fire you after 2 months, you have the right to leave after 2 months. Crappy situation and really has me question what is happening with this program. This isn't a core program issue. Bruno left because he was practically raised by the Hurley's and saw Hurley senior as a father figure. So when Hurley Jr. asked, it was like a family member asking. I agree that the timing was very poor. I think the real issue would be with ASU/Hurley Jr. and why they waited until the end of June to extend the offer, when the position was open six weeks before that.
  17. A common early rumor is that Teddy Owens, NU's Director of Basketball Operations is going to fill the position. I hope this isn't the case. Many have said he has a sharp basketball mind, but we need a recruiter. Basically he wouldn't have any ties to players that Miles already doesn't have.
  18. Not a loss in my opinion. With Synder and Stoll, it's probably better to open up the scholarship. Fant and Stille would be higher on the in-state board based on need.
  19. Going to be interesting if Stanford offers...he has made it know that is one of his dream schools and they are supposed to let him know about a scholarship next week. Even if they don't offer then, if they have a couple misses, it could be JoJo watch at signing day.
  20. I was unaware that 2016 Neb. volleyball recruit Molly Haggerty officially decommited. In any event, she has commited to Wisconsin. Saw it coming after the middle sister transferred. Jeff Sheldon Former #HuskerVBall commit and sister of NU middle Meghan Haggerty pledges to Wisconsin. A top '16 outside hitter. Jeff Sheldon added, Jonathan Burke @jonathanburke77 Congrats to @haggerty_molly for committing to the University of Wisconsin!
  21. Reporter from Kansas City Star: Rustin Dodd ‏@rustindodd 12h12 hours ago Asked around a bit. KU is still recruiting Paschal Chukwu, but he'd likely have to pay own way for a year. Don't anticipate any transfers.
  22. Early in the season, we had Jake Schlep. first in the batting order. With it being Boldt's last year (before he leaves for the draft), I think we try to get him down to the third spot. An MLB pre-draft list had Colton Howell in the Top 100 (I'm guessing if he gets drafted in the first 10-15 rounds, he'll go). Chestnut would be the only other possible Junior in my opinion. If I was picking today, I think it will be Max Knutson as the third weekend pitcher.
  23. Everything is going according to Miles' master plan... 1. Get Kansas to max out their scholarships 2. Have Bielfeldt choose Indiana 3. So now we get Paschal Chukwu (I'm sure he has a plan to keep MSU and Virginia away)
  24. If we take Max/he chooses us, then we would not have a scholarship to offer Paschal as we'd be full. (Unless there is someone else still to transfer from NU). The one good thing is that with Paschal visiting on Monday, they could get a better guage on his interest. Then it might be taking an offer off the table to Max if we felt good about it. It's a roll of the dice either way.
