  1. No reason to make another mopey post about last night man, we're trying to get over it.
  2. Because as you have mentioned, players wanna play for the elite coaches, Saban, Miles, Mack Brown, Kiffin, Urban Meyer. Highschool kids don't see Bo as elite until we win something big. As you have previously mentioned numerous times...
  3. Most people don't think it matters, but those schools are in the south. They're close to homes of the elite talent in the country, and that's why even Vandy can have a better class than us. And i know you're gonna respond with some pessimistic crap, but it's true that playing for nebraska is quite the culture shock for most athletes especially coming from the west coast or the south. All I'm saying is, as long as we keep using that excuse as a crutch, then things won't improve. If Saban could come here and recruit, then what is stopping the others?? Tom Osborne couldn't even get top 5 recruiting classes with the 90's teams, we were using the walk-on tradition. He's one of the most respected coaches of all time because of that.
  4. Saban has no reason to leave the dynasty that he's created in Tuscaloosa.

  6. Just wondering if your amazing prediction abilities included you knowing ahead of time that your team would lay an egg against Oregon State? Hey now urban...give credit where it's due. They snatched a touchdown in the end.. Urban is not impressed =) You know what was impressive..Braxton's touchdown throw yesterday after reversing field. Holy Mother of God talk about accuracy. Right into Stoneburner's hands..
  7. It's better than what we had isn't it? it's pretty visible on the field. Abdullah is turning into a top-tier running back if you watched last night. Turner can change the entire field and get ten yards in an instant. Charles Jackson needs his time to shine. But being 25th is better than being 30th, isn't it? Yes, because it shows improvement. I really do feel we're on the way up, at least in the recruiting aspect, we have players actually starting to consider nebraska, because they hear how incredible it really is once they get here. I kind went off topic, but you get the gist.
  8. because if you haven't noticed he's starting to get great recruits. We have been raving about all these freshmen all summer. Will Tommy be second string? Will Imani redshirt or be a third back? Will the three DL monsters play? I think that his recruiting is starting to improve drastically. We're the leader for the best JUCO TE in the country. That's quite good news. We finally got an elite quarterback. Im not saying everything's hunky-dory, but as recruiting goes, it's noticeably improving. Even with Abdullah, Aaron Green (obviously left), Jamal Turner, i think the recruiting is doing much better than when he started. He's also getting good defensive players.

  10. Thank god. I thought he was going to think martinez wasnt a good passer and not come here. We still have a chance Thank you for your sarcasm, but it's nice to feel reassured sometimes when we're recruiting the #1 JUCO TE in the country..
  11. I actually don't agree with that. O'Hanlon was a very good all around defender (except Va Tech). He had 3 picks against Oklahoma, granted it was Landry Jones, but it was still really impressive. He was always in the right place. I wish we could have more O'Hanlon's on our team.
  12. Also said he was really disappointed about the loss, but thought that Martinez wasn't getting enough protection to let the Tight-ends get the ball. Still loves Nebraska as much as ever and everything that he saw last night doesn't bother him.
  13. On the bright side, Joe Mathis said, "The loss won't affect my decision, but it did bother me that they lost." I think he's really hooked on the program. Also said, "Nebraska's pass rush struggles could allow me to come in and provide a boost." Already has 7 sacks in two games for his HS team. On the dark side, He says he now has real interest in UCLA.. close to home, looks to be up and coming. uh-oh.
  14. Most teams will eat us alive unless there is some extremely significant changes in coaching and player intensity. Have you ever made a positive comment on HB? I don't think I've seen one.
  15. What does this mean for the likes of Dashon Hunt, Kenny Lacey, Scott Quessenberry, etc. that all went to last night's game. Also, word that Priest Willis was there? This lower our stock with all of them?
  16. Wisconsin will never become the next Iowa. We'll simply slip back into our 1980's three-wins-a-season form like Batman receding into Gotham's shadows until he's once again needed. +1 for that, my good sir.
  17. However, Wisconsin could become the next Iowa. That's a possibility.
  18. We haven't seen those guys play yet, though. Compton looked really good coming out of highschool, as did Whaley. But something's not going well in developing players. I was just speaking to athletic ability. Who knows how they'll turn out.... Oh, my fault on that. Misinterpreted. But, in that aspect i think you're right, our recent DL class looks much better than the current one.
  19. This has been pattern for quite some time now. McKewon showed flashes greatness when he was a Frosh then went down hill from there. Cam, Compton, Whaley, etc have all run the same route. Not sure what's going but it needs to be fixed And obviously, it's only on the defensive side of the ball. Martinez has improved drastically. Abdullah had the game of his life yesterday, Heard looks great but only gets 3 carries a game. Our receivers and tight ends look fantastic, except for a few drops. i think Bo needs to leave the offense to Beck and everyone else and start re-focusing on defense. Even though Beck wasn't the greatest yesterday.

  21. He talks extremely highly of us. I believe that we can. I wouldn't say easily, but it's a great situation. He loves Nebraska.
  22. In my understanding. Johnny Stanton, Joe Mathis, Dashon Hunt, Terrell Newby, Scott Quessenberry, Kenny Lacy will all be at the game. So this game is actually a huge game, recruiting wise. Especially if the stadium is painted red and they see how well Husker fans actually do travel.
  23. He did see it, had great things to say about the offense in general. On another note, I think we obviously would have ran the ball more if we had Burkhead, because he's a lot more consistent with yardage than Abdullah, who still had a fantastic game.
  24. yeah, my bad on that guys. That's for just regular kids. That's what i had to get above to get into UNL.
  25. Yeah, I saw this too. But what exactly does it mean to "pass the ACT"? I would really like to see what his actual score was. It probably means that he got a high enough score to get into the schools that he's interested in. So with a 2.6 GPA, what score would he need? Anyone know? His GPA and ACT aren't linked, at least at UNL. If you have a passing GPA and a 22 ACT score I'm pretty sure you can be accepted to UNL.
