  1. It would be brilliant, and an astute statesman would pull the trigger over the weekend. It's just that Trump is neither brilliant nor astute nor a statesman. Doing what Reddenver said is the farthest thing from what this man is capable of. He threw a party on the Whitehouse lawn for Christ's sake for the house bill.
  2. What we can hope for now is that he schedules an official visit.
  3. I understand not being able to find a job if one isn't there. I understand not being able to get one because of qualifications. I understand not being able to get one because you don't know how to find a job. I understand growing up in a situation where maybe you aren't given the tools or ability to find a job. What I don't understand is since I have some money in my pocket now, it gives me MORE motivation to go find a job. I remember being flat ass broke in college and without a job. It gave me one hell of a lot of motivation to go find one.
  4. I understand all of these except the bolded.
  5. If Blades doesn't make it here, that would increase it by one...right?
  6. I know it's routine. I just would prefer us to have our military equipment and not someone who could someday be either an enemy or selling it to our enemies. Just because it's routine doesn't mean I have to like it.
  7. I don't know if this has been done recently with these items. But, I have never liked the idea that we sell our best technology to places like India.
  8. Heaven forbid....next someone is going to tell me dogs will be sleeping with cats.
  9. What does Glen Mason have to do with anything? That was pertaining to the PJ Fleck discussion. My point is, there have been other coaches who have gone to Minnesota after greatly improving a bad program and they weren't able to turn them into a consistent winner.
  10. That is absolutely nuts that an OLB/DE recruit was beating the CB recruits.
  11. Which is starting to make me think that maybe we as fans are looking through rose colored glasses. So far in all the yearly preseason previews, not a single pick to get 2nd place in our division, let alone win it. Then you have the vegas over/under starting at 6.5 and holding around 7.5 now, which lines up with the 7-5/8-4 predictions. If Nebraska goes 7-5 this year, they have to at least win the division next year for people to keep their jobs, right? Yeah, it's all really making me wonder if I've got it all wrong. IMO, only 7 wins this year would be time to pull the plug. I'm tired of next year...next year...next year. In the end, the more important thing to me is how they play and what the product on the field looks like. With our schedule, I see no reason that shouldn't translate to at least 9 wins this year. We're in the B1G West for godsakes. I'm done with injury and transition excuses. I know it's maybe not fair but this is the tell all season for me. Either these systems will work and these guys can coach or they won't and can't. I agree. We out recruit our peers (both currently and historically), so the "lack of talent" isn't really it, and you can only sell hope and future success for so long. I am with you guys...I am starting think that a lot of us are being fans and not thinking with our brains. Naaa....this just shows the laziness of sports writers. Vegas came out with a 6.5 over/under for wins. The general public obviously overwhelmingly didn't agree with that and it quickly rose from there. If I remember right, the juice is pretty high for overs also which indicates the public doesn't believe it and is going heavily for the overs. Meanwhile, sports writers start seeing stuff like that and start writing questionable comments about Nebraska. Each time some lazy sports writer goes to write a prediction like this, he/she knows they are going to get more and more clicks the more radical they make the horrible condition Nebraska is in sound. Writing the same thing the last lazy writer wrote doesn't make money. You have to go one step farther. Meanwhile, their media outlet is making money over the off season getting Husker fans all up in a lather. Once the games start, all of these predictions are forgotten and reality sets in. I believe this is a 9-11 win team. And...that's not even a comment meaning..."they better win or else". It's just where I think we are with the schedule we have. Oh yeah, I agree that a lot of these guys don't really go in-depth with certain teams. I can remember and I am sure you do too when NU was awesome and they would have pages written about them in all the magazines. Now they are kind of glossed over. I think they are at worst a 9 win team. Now, with all that said...these writers have to know they would get more clicks if they were positive about NU instead of negative. We are a fan base that so desperately wants positive news/spin. Shoot, we had fans digging up old articles on Oregon State just to find positive things about Riley from 10 years ago. Like I said, 9 wins at worst but then I start thinking (with my brain) and I think...well shoot, they could lose to Oregon, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minny, NW and PSU and of course crap the bed vs a Purdue, Ark St or IL. Sadly it would not shot me if they lost to those teams. Not necessarily. Look at the attention this article received by us just in this thread. I'll admit, Nebraska has put themselves in the position that writing this stuff is easy. Until Nebraska proves it, they aren't going to write that they are going to go beat OSU, Michigan or PSU and win the conference. However, writing that they are going to win 9 or 10 wins doesn't create buzz and traffic to their site. BUT....if you can talk about how horrible a former power is and how they don't have any talent and how they might even struggle to beat lowly Arkansas state........THAT creates clicks.
  12. I remember when Glen Mason was going to do great things there after making Kansas a 10-2 team.
  13. OK...well....to me, that's not going to have much affect on what I get to see and learn from what happened at the camp.

  15. This is the kind of thing they are trying to crack down on????
  16. So, in other words, the videos of the camp taken during the drills or competitions (1 on 1) would be fine. But, the pictures of them in a Husker uniform posing for the camera will not be fine.
  17. CNN (and the reporters) is getting hammered for this....as they should.
  18. If MSU has another bad season...THEN he may be on the hot seat. No way is he now. And Harbaugh is just laughable. Proof the writer Is just trying to generate clicks.
  19. Well...my outrage on this is with the reporters. You know you work for an organization that is going to be under intense scrutiny. Make damn sure you are doing everything right. This just gives trump that much more ammo yo convince his sheep that everything on CNN is fake. Idiots.
  20. I've written emails and letters to my congressmen and all I ever get back is some form letter that has nothing to do with what I said in my original letter to them. My only hope is that somewhere some staff person is keeping a running tally of "for" or "against" whatever regulation I wrote about.
  21. If that's how it is supposed to work, it's not working. Two things at work here. 1) The penalty isn't big enough to make people care. It is cheaper to not pay premiums and just pay the penalty if it ever was enforced. 2) It isn't enforced. So...to fix it, let's realize that health care premiums are skyrocketing for a lot of people even if the ACA is kept in tact. So, the penalty is going to have to be enormous to make them choose premiums over the penalty.
  22. I said the way the Repubs are proposing to do it is pathetic. I'm trying to figure out how you have a mandate and enforce the penalty. Let's say you take the guy who I described above. He chooses to not buy insurance. HIs wife gets sick so then he needs it so he going and buys a policy. Do you assess the penalty at the time he tries to now go buy insurance?
