  1. Well, read the thread. It really has nothing to do with KJ, it has to do with Riley and why he recruited the players he has. recruit KJ, recruit Patrick.. those are keys to passing, not running. Riley says they will emphasize running, but recruited players for passing... Kind of the opposite of how things are usually done when wanting to run more. So because we recruited POB and KJJ we aren't committed to having s good rushing attack. The logic there is just baffling and comical. Did you even read the thread title? let me help.. Change Scheme or Change QB? The point is will he change his scheme (as a pro-style type of coach) to be more of a running style coach. I said, look at who he recruited.. it doesn't lend itself to being a running style coach. Nowhere did it suggest this.. What it did mean was Riley is committed to being a pro-style coach. He won't change who he is. You don't think my post might go as far as the title to the thread? As for the bold. Being a "pro-style" coach doesn't mean he isn't going to understand the importance of running the ball. Yes...I read the thread. People act like because he recruited POB and KJJ that he doesn't think the running game is important. That's just hogwash.
  2. Is it his Dad that owns a business with a branch in Omaha??? Or, am I thinking of someone else??? Or...did I dream that????
  3. I very much agree. The difference, also, is that they're the political leaders calling for wholesale changes that affect everyone. People simply afraid of others aren't doing that. People afraid of others fuel the fire due to not opening their minds to other view points. It is easy for trump to gain power over people afraid of Muslims because those people don't say..."Hmmmm......Is there a chance my fear is irrational and is there a better way? Is it OK for me to be standing in this group at a rally promoting hate towards other groups?" This is no different than Jesse Jackson gaining power over black people because black people aren't saying...."Hmmmm......is my fear of white people irrational and is there a better way than what Jesse keeps telling me and why I'm supposed to send him my money?"
  4. This whole "phobia" thing is frustrating. It seems like one side is shaking their finger at the other side because they have a phobia of Muslims. The side shaking their finger acts like they are mightier than thou and never have an irrational thought. Fact is, almost all groups of people have members of that group that have an irrational fear or dislike of some other type of group they don't belong to. Many poor people have an irrational fear (or more of a dislike) for rich people . Many rich people have an irrational fear or misunderstanding of poor people Black people have an irrational fear of white people. White people have an irrational fear of black people. Many born and raised Americans have an irrational fear or dislike of Mexicans. And the list goes on and on and on. Yes....many trump and Cruz supporters have an irrational fear of Muslims. But, they are not alone in the whole "phobia" phenomena. Problem is when people in political power feed fuel to the issues to gain their own power over the group.
  5. There is a Muslim family living in my home town. We should camp out a cop in front of their house and watch them. I'm sure they are plotting to kill us all.
  6. I know this isn't the Adidas thread, but God I hate the tire tread on the jerseys That's too bad. I actually like it. I laughed the other day when I saw Nike basketball jerseys with something similar. I had visions of all the people who hate it because of Adidas going into convulsions.

  8. Why is it such a big controversy why he came here? He obviously thinks we have a program and coaches that will be the best for developing and using his skills. Which I agree with and am glad for. Not sure why there is an argument.
  9. Note that Sanders isn't proposing EVERYONE gets a free college education. He's proposing that state colleges are free for the students who get in - there are still minimum standards and maximum attendance numbers. I back that plan and I'd add trade schools to the list as well. And keep in mind we're talking about getting BOTH free college and universal healthcare for that $150 biweekly ($3900/year). How is that not the best deal? Nope...still don't back it. And, the bolded part is just laughable. No way in hell that works out mathematically.
  10. Tweeted: "Need to get back up to Nebraska soon" But, then he deleted it.
  11. There was a great discussion on this in the recruiting board and I'm not going to rehash this now. I'm looking at the quality of players. Our average player rating has gone up. And, if you look at the ones we have good interest from for next year it's even better ( I know looking at next year is a crap shoot). However, Last year's average player rating was higher than we have had in years. The class rank takes into account number of commits. A prime example of this is the highly taught 2011 class. It came in with 32 players but the average player rating was much lower than last year's class. In hind site, that wasn't really that good of a class. If you simply look at the OLine, the last year or two has taken a big jump. Again, I'm not going to rehash this again. If you choose to ignore it and don't agree....I'm not going to try to convince you otherwise.
  12. You just proved you haven't payed that much attention to recruiting in the last 4-5 months which includes what we potentially have coming in the next class.
  13. In that case, good thing almost all of these recruits won't play much (if any) with TA under center. With recruits we are getting and trying to get now, we need to be looking at how we think the offense will perform with POB, Gebbia, Coan...etc. If recruiting keeps going the way it looks like it will, I like the chances of success.
  14. I've stood right next to him - not that it matters a lot when he's most of a foot taller - but I wouldn't say for sure he's taller than 6-8. He's a big boy but that seems right to me. I've just seen him play against some kids that are 6'3" or 6'4" and he seemed like a mountain next to them. I guess he would still be 4-5" taller. I'm sure Gothenburg would never have stretched him on the HS roster .......nooooooo.....
  15. Here is how I look at this punishment issue. If you get a DUI, it very well possibly will cost you: 6 months without a license (automatically, even before you are actually convicted) could cost over $10,000 (which includes legal fees and insurance, alcohol counseling...etc) Some people lose their jobs because they can't drive Insurance probably cancels you There is probably more. Now, the state of Nebraska at one time was even thinking bout lowering the legal BAC to .06. So.....should someone that registers a .07 or .08 get what is all in the list above? If we are going to get so strict in this that they are going to have the legal level as low as this, there really needs to be a graduated level of punishment dependent on their BAC level. Using the speeding example, someone who gets a ticket for driving 5 MPH over the limit doesn't get punished the same way as someone driving 50 MPH over the limit.
  16. I'm not one that complains usually about license plates. Honestly, I really don't care. However, my biggest issue with these is that they look too much like Michigan's.
  17. Anyone hear anything about Borchart and how he is developing? The roster says 6'8" and 275lbs. I'm almost positive he is taller than that. I was thinking around 6'9" - 6'10".
  18. OSU already has 13 commits? How many of those will actually sign on the dotted line for them? Wonder if some are placeholders for when a higher star kid shows interest. If their average rating is .9411, there isn't going to be very many that are just place holders. That's 13 pretty dang good recruits. Their only non-4* player is their kicker. PS....don't want to derail the thread talking about OSU. Keep em coming Big RED!!!!!!
  19. We have two really good ones now. If we are going to take 2-3 more, I think you key very heavily on the best ones you can and stick with those. Unless one is willing to possibly change positions if he is buried on the depth chart, you can't load up with too many at one position. There are other positions of need.
  20. Right now we are 8th in Big Ten. However, look at it when I go by average player ranking. OSU 13 commits .9411 Nebraska 3 Commits .8900 PSU 4 Commits .8896 Michigan 6 Commits .8890 Iowa 6 Commits .8821 Northwestern 5 Commits .8654 Indiana 5 Commits .8603 Wisconsin 4 Commits .8700 MSU 2 Commits .8577 Maryland 1 Commit .8333 Illinois 2 commits .8323 Rutgers 1 Commit .7900 Keep it Rolling!!!!!!!!!!!!
