  1. Your son's coach really didn't know what he was doing then. Batting and infield defense (including pitching in this) is the biggest part of being successful. Base running???? Understand the infield defense and teaching the baselining is easy.
  2. Man, I miss Sully's in West Des Moines on this day. People in central Nebraska just don't understand how to celebrate this holiday.
  3. I've thought he is a silent commit for some time.
  4. Top candidates off the top of my head would be Evelyn, Fuller, Hammond. But you never know, Tarin Smith was a shocker last year. What are your reasonings on those three?
  5. Protect your ears. The only reason why the nominee would not be confirmed is because the Republicans don't want him to be. If they were smart, they would take this nominee and put it on the fast track. But....Republicans and smart have not been two words associated with each other for a long time.
  6. I definitely sympathize with workers who count on pensions for retirement. However, they are absolutely the worst form of retirement savings/program there is. When you retire, you want total control over your retirement funds. Tying both parties for what can be decades to an agreement is just assigning.
  7. The only thing I have seen publicly that would draw him away from us is if Holmes and Gebbia really don't want to come here and they are pulling him in a different direction. That doesn't mean there isn't something going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. But, it's clear they really would like to stay together so they may have some influence on where he goes instead of him having influence on where they go. PS....I still think he is in.
  8. You know, I really half expected Republicans to call this a victory and go home. They can claim to have served the Senate's advice and consent role to force President Obama to nominate a moderate, serious candidate with significant bipartisan support -- and one who would serve closer to 15 than 30 years. Without that ruckus, they can argue that President Obama would surely have nominated some outrageous left-wing firebrand. But no, they're digging in -- from McConnell to Grassley to even Hatch (who last Friday had said '[The president] could easily name Merrick Garland, who is a fine man. He probably won't do that...') Even beyond the ugliness of this intransigence, I just don't understand the political calculus here. Do they think doubling down is going to help them keep seats this November? ....to which I can only say: They should be very very careful what they wish for. I see this strategy absolutely blowing up in their face especially if they not only lose the Whitehouse (which looks probable) and congress (and that's possible).
  9. Ummmm.....my post really didn't have anything to do with that.
  10. Thanks for the links. I tried reading the first one and just couldn't. His very clear preconceived ideas show me that I'm not going to be able to trust his opinion. If you're going to read these, you've got to be OK with the massive liberal filter. What's sad is I've seen nothing from the media (and I've got no other sources to work with) to dispel their portrayal of Trump supporters. That is like me listening to people who claim Bernie supporters are all a bunch of free loading college students that want free tuition. Hey, I haven't read a story from the media telling me different. All I'm saying is I would prefer to see a source a little more objective.

  12. I don't understand how the teams that are in the play in games are not the 16 seed. It makes no sense to me how one of them then ends up the 11 seed.
  13. You've been telling us what for months. People on this site haven't liked trump even before you stared this thread.
  14. I'll offer $10 for you to be gone till KJJ, Gebbia and Holmes commits. 😛
  15. I think in large part some are higher on your list than others is because they are more popular as fan spectator sports. Maybe you can scare by as a cross country coach and nobody is going to care. However, if you truly are going to be hood at what you do and fight for state championships, it can be a very hard and technical sport to coach. Hell, I could go coach a football team if nobody cares if we are good or not.
  16. I have heard Trump say over and over again that he has drawn millions of people to the Republican party and most of those are people who have never voted before. Does anyone know where he is getting this information? I have looked on line and I can't find anything. Or....is this just another one of his lies he fills his followers with? I would be interested in seeing actual numbers.
  17. But yet you posted 50/50.
  18. I've thought this for a long time. If you have 9 team divisions, you basically will end up with two 9 team conferences that are tied together to have their champions play each other at the end of the year. I like it. Then, those championship games are basically the first round of the playoffs. I think that is truly the direction we are headed, maybe even expanding conference play to 10 games at some point down the road. The MAC, Sun Belt, AAC, and C-USA should already be considering this idea. I'm not sure I would be for 10 team conference play. I like the non-conference games. It give you some variety from season to season. Now....saying that....if everyone is going to keep scheduling one good team and 3 little school for the blind, then we might as well be playing one or two more conference games.

  20. Interesting.... Donald Trump Warns of Riots at Convention if He Is Denied Nomination This entire quote is unbelievable. It is very telling of where his mentality is. He is basically threatening the Republican party that they will have riots if he isn't their nominee. In a failed attempt to hide it, he is basically telling his followers to riot if that happens. But....hey....he won't LEAD IT. Of course he is just warning of it....wink wink..... But, then we are reminded of this. So....if his followers are protesting, does this mean they should be beat up because they are expressing dissent?
  21. No one gets excited when I put on that much weight over a year Your brassiere Tailor does You mean the manssiere?
  22. I have a friend who played on the UNL golf team that would greatly disagree with your assessment of their practice. Hours and hours and hours spent on the practice range perfecting their shots before they ever even step foot on the golf course. The coach would need to be able to see extremely fine points in their swings that would make huge differences. That's why the really good golf coaches make a lot of money. For me, I found softball the easiest but that is probably because it was the sport I liked coaching the most. I think that would be the key for anyone. The one you like coaching the most ends up being the easiest one to coach because you will dive into it 100%.
  23. Google search: Honest Candidate for 2016You will get zero results...ha Hmmm...true. However, what I find interesting about this is that I constantly hear his followers claiming the fact he tells the truth as the reason they are voting for him. And, they are extremely emotional about it. If you never question content, how will you know if it contains a lie? Trump supporters are largely mindless followers. Would that make the followers of every other candidate the same thing? I am saying that many of Trumps supporters aren't followers of politics. They are the types to buy a shamwow because the commercial made it look cool. But that what you get when a reality tv star runs for president. That said, you are correct that every candidate has its blind supporters. If by "not followers of politics" in the sense that Trump has a lot of supporters who are sick of "politics" then I'd say you're right. But I think saying that Trump's supporters flat out don't understand how policy affects the country wouldn't be any less correct if you were talking about any other candidate's followers. In the end, the people who think they know politics probably know the least of anyone. No, I am not talking about people sick of politics, I am talking about people who have no clue and watch a lot of reality television. Basically people that need to be told what to think instead of thinking for themselves. And I am not saying this is what makes up all of Trumps supporters. But those types seem to be drawn to him. They showed a study on CNN the other day that revealed Trumpf's minions, to a large extent, are white, male, over 40, blue collar, h.s. diploma or not, and frequently habitate trailor parks. High concentration in the Deep South, obviously. Now, I'm not blaming them or being classist about it, but thems is the facts, folks. It's too bad, that the American working class man continues to get bamboozled into voting Repub, that is, against their economic interests, since the Repub Party has zip interst in improving the lives of working class men and women. And, if that's not bad enough, this year they have fallen for the racist and nativistic rhetoric of a full blown fascist(Trumpf) who's playing them like a violin. It's really sad--and dangerous. Too bad, they'd be better off feelin' the Bern, the true champion of the working class. Funny thing is....He isn't Republican. Almost everyone else in the Republican party is trying to stop the guy because THEY don't even want him as their candidate.

Would that make the followers of every other candidate the same thing? I see something very different in Trump followers than other candidates. You have a candidate that hasn't said squat about what he is going to do as President and followers that almost worship the guy because they think he hasn't promoted violence and is telling them the truth. It has been shown unequivocally that both of those things are flat out false and every time these people are shown that, they love the guy even more. It flat out defies logic.
