  1. From a volleyball standpoint are you happy to be in the big ten. This conference has way more depth top to bottom.
  2. Excellent pick up for you guys getting Darlington. Darlington is a solid QB and it looks like he'll be a very good asset to the Husker offense in the coming years.
  3. Which is what you will need to happen, unless the Huskers beat them in Ann Arbor which i don't see happening. Michigan OL is not that great, little depth at RB even if they have D.Green coming in, very few LBs with Jake Ryan out, no depth at QB if Garder gets hurt. Trust me, Michigan has its own problem in their kitchen. This doesn't mean they lose but Nebraska can easily win if they don't correct these problems.
  4. I must be in the minority, but I never thought the conference was all that bad. Was it great, no, but not that bad. The national percenption of the big 10 hinged basically on week 2 of the season. After Meechicken got killed by 'Bama, which I really expected, in week 1. The next week NU loses to UCLA, Wisky loses to the Beavers, and someone else loses to Utah St. I think. All those teams ended up being decent FB teams. Its just that it all happened at once. PSU lost to Ohio and UVA, Iowa lose to ISU and CMU, Illinois lost to LA Tech and Arizona State, Wisconsin beat Utah St. on a miss FG and nearly lost to N. Iowa, Indiana lost Tre Roberson = losing season.... Trust me, things were very bad last year.
  5. I believe Delany watered down the brand of the Big Ten being a Midwestern conference that prides itself academics, research, sports, and midwestern traditions. There is just something special about being in the Midwest and having associations with the Great Lakes states as you can go anywhere and be in contact with Big Ten alum from your school and others. However, going out east waters downs the brand and opens us up to a culture shock I'm not sure most of would be open to. I will admit, I don't favor the east coast bias and think we get enough with Penn State. Rutgers doesn't really bring anything to the conference except Jersey shore. Maryland brings basketball, soccer, lacrosse and crabcakes but that's tied in with an athletic department in debt and cutting sports programs. Its like they're looking to join just to solvent their needs for their ailing athletic programs. I may come across as brutal but I have a hard time opening up to people/teams and accepting new things but given my dislike for the east coast this isn't making things any easier. Its going to take time for me to accept change which is never easy. At least with Nebraska you guys fit in and brought: football, volleyball, baseball and more. In addition, you brought the nice fans ever, but Northwestern still has my heart as my second favorite team with Neb in third. As for Neb we have no buyer remorse. We're glad to have you. Do you miss Texas and Colorado?
  6. I just wanted to say even though you lost congrads on a successful first year for Miles and increasing your win total by 3 including a BTT win. It was very very brutal year in the conference and wins didn't come by easily. Even with the Huskers losing a lot of scorers from last year they still were able to have a competitive team. Miles is leading this team in the right direction and is doing so in baby step. Can't eat the entire candy bar so enjoy the litte bites of success this year, get his recruits in and I'm sure more success will follow. Go Big Red.
  7. Yeah you guys won on your court but Penn State swept us 3-0. I better not count my eggs before they hatch, we have to dispatch of ND first before we get a shot against Penn State. Lastly, I agree you do have to beat great teams to prove you are champions.
  8. Why would it be revenge to play K-State? Did they ruin a season for Nebraska? Congrads on the win!
  9. Best of luck, in your bracket... Hopefully you make it to the final four and beat Oregon. We got the death sentence and have to play Penn State.
  10. Really? Troll Sorry I haven't been back on Huskerboard in while but my apologizes are overdue. Please forgive me, I did not mean to troll your board nor was that my intention. The game wasn't aired on BTN and I had no access to it. One of the Husker fans told me about the game while it was in process on the ESPN board but I did not know the score while in progress or the final score. At the time, www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com didn't have game information. Again, I'm sorry if you thought my question came across in a troll manner.
  11. 10. Not watch sportcenter and put in a comedy movie.
  12. Damn that was better than any performance I ever saw by the band.
  13. O I heard about that... Yeah I heard the crowd was ANGRY and afterwards they started getting fired up and into the game... Warning, DO NOT mess with OSU Marching Band or their traditions. They take that serious, just as much as they do with football. A few fans said that messing with the band justified Meyer scoring the extra TD.
  14. Who exactly are the children in these photos?
  15. ATL, I wasn't much of the tailgate type of person while I was in school but I can recommend a few fun places to check out. Before you start the tailgate experience, head over to the student union to check out a huge part of campus where most of the student spend their time. Lots of great place within the union to take pictures including the iconic buckeye statue with his leg crossed. If you wanna get blown away by what is the best part of campus check out the Oval. You might wanna bring a ball/freebie or something type of outdoors game to play. This is the single most unifying thing on campus that students walk across everyday as each path guides you to a different place. I'm not sure if you're the type that likes to exercise before the game but there is a nice running path along the Olentangy river that runs through campus. Lastly, I recommend you take something home that has Ohio State on it. I've started a shot glass collection of all the schools (tennessee, purdue, wisconsin, iowa, minnesota and ohio state) I've been to and have something to remember each trip. BTW sorry for whatever construction you may see while you're there. The schools is always working on some project and I'm hoping that doesn't demote your opinion about the campus.
  16. I'm sadly picking Neb to win this. I honestly think that if T-mart throws the ball a lot, he'll do more damage to our secondary. I hope I'm wrong but this figures to be our toughest game all year long.
  17. I'm one of few OSU fans that absolutely despise Wisconsin more than Michigan even though they are our main rival. That says a lot but in 2010 we were treated horribly there after our lost. Doesn't help they took down both the #1 basketball team and football team in the same academic year. Throw in the 2004 lost with them dancing on our logo after the win and the back and forth victories between the schools in football and its enough to make the pot boil over. Wisconsin fans have the arrogance and Wisconsin swag to them that makes you root for their failure no matter who they play. I can go to Michigan and expect to get treated poorly but nothing compared to the magnitude of what happened when you go to Madtown.
  18. Hey there huskers. First let me congratulate you on breaking the Badger's Hearts. I'm sorry that your first game last year in Madison was horrible and that you had an bad time but most Badger fans can't handle winning.I was satisfied with the results. Moving on, let me say welcome to your first night game in Columbus. It figures to be quite the game with two of the big ten best going at it. Expect a hostile and loud crowd of passionate OSU fans but nothing compared to the hostility in Madison. I'm sure Ohio State fans will roll out the red carpet to you and your football team. That being said if you guys have any questions about Columbus, OSU football traditions, things to see and so forth let me know and I'll get back to you. I should be able to answer most of them seeing how I'm an alumnus. If your coming to the game, I highly recommend you go to Jeni's Ice cream which was rated #1 in the nation. Lastly, I run a blogger where I pretty much take sports predictions from fans of either teams and some non fans on team forums and ESPN to see who can guess the score. If its possible, state what you think the score of the game will be (you can homer out) and I'll take your predictions (i.e. Neb 35 OSU 23) from here and add them to my blogger. I use the data from the game and predictions to study sports betting among fans. After the game, I'll post the winners and how everyone did. Here is the link for the blogger I run http://buckeyelounge.blogspot.com/ . Lets hope for a good game with no injuries. Husker Power! Go Big Red Go Bucks
